To fancy Ser Jorah from Game of Thrones?

Actually maybe this is one for the weird crushes thread in Chat.

After much persuasion from friends I recently started watching GoT from the start and have really got into it. All of my female friends have been harping on about bloody Jon Snow and Robb Stark but quite frankly as conventionally handsome as they are they do very little for me I'm afraid. There is however something very alluring about Jorah, his rugged handsomeness and unfailing devotion to Daenerys.

It's the same actor who played one of Lady Mary's many suitors in an early series of Downton isn't it? I didn't fancy him in that.

Am I weird?

I love "Ye bast'd" Grin

EmeraldThief · 07/04/2015 23:07

I have a friend who's obsesed with Jaime and Cercei and their relationship, she even has a collage soft focus photos of them together as her FB cover photo! He's a handsome guy, but much like Jon Snow he's a bit obvious. Oh and he shags his sister.

5'7 isn't that short. I come from a family in which my brothers are the first to get over 5'5. We're tiny.

squoosh - oh, generous! Grin

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 07/04/2015 23:08

The former. Though not hugely surprised. I knew he was short, just not that short.

MrsTerryPratchett · 07/04/2015 23:08

Not Jaime but the actor who plays him. Weird. I wanted to start a thread about that actually. When you really rate the actor but not the character (Jaime) or the character but not the actor (Russell Crowe in everything he has ever done). Actually Jason Momoa is a good example of that.

EmeraldThief · 07/04/2015 23:09

Should also add that Jerome Flynn was my embarrassing crush in 1995 when I was 13. Embarrassing in that he was the person your mum was supposed to fancy...

Oh x post

Wasn't trying to insult your family Jeanne Blush
I'm 5ft 11 though and am from a family where the men are ten inches or so taller than Jon snow so it does seem short to me

squoosh · 07/04/2015 23:10

I know Jeanne. My generosity of spirit impresses myself sometimes!

I will also give Robb Stark to whomever wants him. He ticks the boxes on paper but is oddly unfanciable.

EllenJanesthickerknickers · 07/04/2015 23:10

I'm OK. I was 30 in 1995! Grin

Salmotrutta · 07/04/2015 23:11

Ah Jeanne , you see my achondroplasia relative sticks out like a sore thumb in our family where everyone is actually very tall.

It's irony of the highest order.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 07/04/2015 23:11

I see no one has claimed Joe Dempsie yet...excellent.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 07/04/2015 23:12

I feel the same about Robb squoosh. I do like Jaime though.

squoosh · 07/04/2015 23:13

But Squoosh, what if I fancied him in Soldier, Soldier?

I suppose I'll have to allow you to your lustful thoughts in that case.

Soldier, Soldier though? Tsk. Don't go admitting that in public.

Salmotrutta · 07/04/2015 23:13

I quite liked The Hound.

He was the guy who did the Scott's Porridge Oats advert many years ago...

PseudoBadger · 07/04/2015 23:14

My best friend's sister's friend is married to IG. My friend sees him at toddlers' birthday parties a few times each year Grin

Salmotrutta · 07/04/2015 23:15

Didn't like his bastard of a brother The Mountain (is that right?) who killed the rather lovely Prince who was Tyrions Champion.

Git.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 07/04/2015 23:15

Well I saw Roose Bolton buying a litre of milk in the local shop a few years ago Pseudo. So there!!!

Moln · 07/04/2015 23:15

Sorry Nugget I claimer them all (bar two) last page.

Salmotrutta · 07/04/2015 23:16

Pseudo!!!! Envy

JeanneDeMontbaston · 07/04/2015 23:18

Grin Totally agree on Robb Stark.

I think it's the fact you can just tell he's a massive wassock, as a character. He doesn't have much time to develop this, but the time he does have, he spends putting his mum down and shacking up with someone.

woman - oh, goodness, no! Grin I joke that I am genetically required to fancy tall men, because of this. My first serious boyfriend was 6'4 and when I brought him home to meet my parents, my poor dad was a bit daunted. Grin

I just meant, for me, 5'7 doesn't seem all that short.

EllenJanesthickerknickers · 07/04/2015 23:19

Thank you, Squoosh. Don't worry, my Soldier, Soldier 'interest' is a well kept secret in RL. Only a few million MNetters know about it now.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 07/04/2015 23:20

Hmmm not sure a blanket claim is acceptable Moln. But you can have Joffrey certainly!!!

JeanneDeMontbaston · 07/04/2015 23:20

salmo - yes, the Mountain is a horrible character, both book and TV.

EmeraldThief · 07/04/2015 23:22

Well Jel of your friend Pseudo

Soldier Soldier was hugely popular at the time, though it looks horribly dated now. Don't feel bad about liking it ;)

Salmotrutta · 07/04/2015 23:23

Yes to The Mountain being a horror!
That scene where he killed Prince Auberon was so horrible Shock

I must admit I'm dancing with impatience to watch the next series!!
