She seems so genuine and actually seemed to care. She came across as strong though which means she is pm material.

Ps I know its impossible but we all have hopes.

Hamiltoes -

re the 'official stance' - I can only speak of my personal experience of two SNP MSP's who have both said that to me in person.

I can also speak - as many people did on the Indy threads at the time, of the vile behaviour of many SNP supporters before, during and after the IndyRef ( burning pamphlets, anyone?)

As Discounted says, the Indy agenda takes HUGE resources away from what the SNP need to be concentrating on which is the howling deficit gap.
If they shut up about Indy and told me how they will pay for their plans, I'd vote for them too.

I'm not bothered about NS accent / appearance / background - that's all irrelevant - I want to know how she will fund my kids school, how she will fund my Operation, how she will get rid of Trident (yes please!) etc
Then I'd vote for her.

Can anyone explain this SNP policy to me? They want to provide more state subsidised childcare to enable more women to go out to work (agree with this policy since am a working woman myself). But do the majority of Scottish women want the sort of society you get in the Scandinavian countries, where most women with children do go out to work, and from quite an early age (and in fact single parents are more common because the state provides)? As this seems to be related to the frequent SNP statements that Scotland is more similar to the Scandinavian countries, with a desire to pay higher tax and so on?

And wouldn't it mean firstly getting rid of corruption and the jobs for the boys attitude so prevalent in many areas of Scotland, where untalented and unqualified men still tend to get remarkably high paid jobs, as it would otherwise result in all these women leaving their children in childcare to work in what are quite likely to be a high proportion of low paid jobs?

Ruth Davidson wasn't impressive on the Scottish Debate.

starwarslegoboy · 09/04/2015 18:30

If you don't want another referendum, don't vote for them if they have it on their manifesto om 2016. If you do, then vote for them. It's not a choice for the GE. . I do wonder at those who thought that SNP would disappear after the 2014 referendum. They didn't after the 1979 Referendum.

StillLostAtTheStation · 09/04/2015 19:53

No Starwars but they could keep Eck's promise and still pursue the policy of being the party who puts Scottish interests first but without committing to independence. They bleat on about not being a one issue party after all.

PrimalLass · 10/04/2015 00:51

They'd have no members left if they did that ...

starwarslegoboy · 10/04/2015 18:33

Independence is their raison d'etre. To ask them to deny it is like asking Cameron to give his Bullingdon boy tie to the nice chap in a soup kitchen

However, the good news is that it's one holy miracle that there are NO Lazy Scottish Bastards/Stupid Scottish Bastards/How-dare-they-have-an opinion Scottish Bastard stories AT ALL in the Daily Mail today. First time, well, since they realised that SNP were polling well in the referendum

We have been cast aside for photos of drunk women having dress malfunctions at Aintree.

Should we Scots be concerned that we may not be out of favour with DM!?

starwarslegoboy · 10/04/2015 18:36

Isn't he lovely.....

StillLostAtTheStation · 10/04/2015 19:10

Why should independence be their sole reason for existing if they want to look out for Scottish interests ? There is no reason why they can't be the "get the best for Scotland party" except of course their blinkered ideology.

starwarslegoboy · 10/04/2015 19:22

Because it is. In the meantime, they will do what they can in the interests of Scotland.
