I was on a thread yesterday which was not in AIBU, hard to imagine I know.

Posters were replying YANBU or YABU.

MN is not just AIBU.

Thank you Easter Smile

Sorry, Purple. Wine

If I posted in camping about my new tent, I wouldn't expect an AIBU escapee to tell me YABU for buying a tent instead of a caravan.

Hmm as someone who once accidently roared TAKE ME DOWN TO POTATO CITY! on a serious thread about assault I can't really agree. Shit happens. I'm a twat

JuliaDream · 02/04/2015 23:39

It's not the abbreviation. It's the fact that every thread on here is treated like an AIBU thread.

Philoslothy · 02/04/2015 23:39

I have to admit that I never check which section a thread is in. MAybe I should.

There's a Camping topic? Shock I must have it hidden, I might have a look if anyone is being unreasonable about sleeping bags or something.....

PurpleDaisies · 02/04/2015 23:40

Wine always appreciated op, thanks. I've never seen any AIBU style replies except on this board. Is it a big problem? I suspect I've missed a thread somewhere else.

GiddyOnZackHunt · 02/04/2015 23:42

You can be unreasonable anywhere, any time, any place. Just because you didn't ask, doesn't make you reasonable.

PurpleDaisies · 02/04/2015 23:42

Sorry I have already had too much wine, it is your camping thread you were talking about. Can understand why that would be annoying!

WorraLiberty · 02/04/2015 23:43

A 'YABU escapee'? Grin

I'm seriously wondering where you've escaped from Lol

stoopstoconker · 02/04/2015 23:43

but we are allowed to say yanbu on this thread.

JuliaDream · 02/04/2015 23:43

Camping is very lovely and calm.

There was a brief skirmish once about windbreaks.

OP posts:
ThatBloodyWoman · 02/04/2015 23:43

Its not the abbreviation as such thats a problem imo.
Its when someone starts a thread in chat and it turns into a whole narsty business, and they just wanted, well, you know,a chat.
Its happened to me -gone bad, real quick, and suddenly I'm defending a throwaway comment in minute detail and getting all aggro'd.
And I can't just leave it.
And then I get all unreasonable, and it was never meant to be unreasonable.
And I'm the bad bugger.
Again Sad

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 02/04/2015 23:44

Chat is turning a bit nasty of late, as if the rage of aibu is spilling over. That's annoying.

msgrinch · 02/04/2015 23:44

yabu.

Sparklingbrook · 02/04/2015 23:44

Can't find Camping, found The Great Outdoors though. Close enough.

SweetAndFullOfGrace · 02/04/2015 23:45

I don't think the rules are made in a forum environment by someone saying "these are the rules"...

JuliaDream · 02/04/2015 23:46

You can say YABU on this thread because it's in AIBU.

Had I posted it in chat, then no, YABU replies are not on.

OP posts:
msgrinch · 02/04/2015 23:46

Ok. sorry mum. Smile

WorraLiberty · 02/04/2015 23:47

Those bastards from the weaning topic had better never darken the doors of chat and start posting 'BLW' everywhere.

If they do, I'll send them to you boss OP.

Sparklingbrook · 02/04/2015 23:48

I was on the beach in Weymouth once and one family must have had about 10 windbreaks. They cordoned off a massive chunk of beach with them and pitched little sun tents and set up a barbecue. It was hilarious.

They were probably being a bit unreasonable. I was tempted to dig underneath one and see what happened.

helpmekeepstrong · 02/04/2015 23:49

Wine sips, ahhhh. Knew I was missing something. I sometimes read the comments in the Guardian or the Independent the Mail . Like to think I can spot a Mumsnetter from time to time. There's a ... tone ... to some. (Ducks and gets flame retardant clothing out).

stoopstoconker · 02/04/2015 23:49

I like the idea of a brief skirmish about windbreaks.

I'm treating mn as a character building experience these days, we're a small section of the vox pop, just like the commenters on the DM, (hopefully).

CadMaryzCremeEggzAreASwizz · 02/04/2015 23:50

You are obviously being unreasonable Hmm

I'm not sure why, but I'm sure I'll work it out in a bit.

SweetAndFullOfGrace · 02/04/2015 23:51

Proper beaches don't need wind breaks. Just sayin' Wink
