I'm 10 minutes into the leaders' debate and

I think they are all a bunch of smarmy knobs?

I thought Nicola Sturgeon was excellent, Wood was good (but as a minority party, able to be "out there" with ideas), Bennett was woefully bad. Really awful. Someone on a thread last night said she came across like a teacher at parents eve - spot on. Farage was the affable chap with a knife for your back that we all expected - the Heath tourism blow was awful and I was so annoyed that none of the major party leaders called him on it.

Clegg - likeable, seemed sincere, but clearly no chance of power. Should have acknowledged the tuition fees thing properly.

Milliband - very sincere and decent man, held back in a statesmanlike way for a while but then got himself embroiled in scrapping. And whoever has taught him media/camera skills has fine him no favours as now he seems a bit slimy as well as awkward whereas once he was just awkward! Policies seemed well thought out - I actually think he'd be ok but don't think he will get the chance to show us.

Cameron - so aloof, uninvolved. Almost disinterested. Made it clear this was being done on sufferance and he was better than this. Said v little, not much substance.

I think you would have to be very lucky indeed to find you agreed with every detail of every single policy a party had.

Yes, I know. It's just a shame because I do agree with the vast majority of everything else they propose - but for me it's too big a thing to overlook. I'm torn, however, because I don't think a Labor vote in my seat would go as far.
