One of my team wore a dress similar to this today:

www.asos.com/ASOS-Petite/ASOS-PETITE-Long-Sleeve-Bodycon-Rib-Mini-Dress/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=4948857&cid=8799&Rf989=5011&Rf981=3677&Rf1012=4458&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=204&sort=-1&clr=Black&totalstyles=187&gridsize=3

AIBU to think it's not appropriate for the office? I didn't say anything as we don't have a formal dress code and didn't know if I was just being a jealous old fart (she's 10 years younger than me and looked very good in it)

The dress code in my office is smart casual but can't believe anyone would wear anything like this. Too short and not appropriate for a professional office environment.

Looks fine to me even if shorter. i don't like it an wouldn't wear it but it covers everything needed and if it fits with your dress code, no issue.

Some people have no idea though. In my work with people with cancer I once had a student turn up in a little sleeveless crop top that showed most of her upper body. Apart from not being appropriate work wear for anything other than a gym, it was hardly great for patients with body issues having had mastectomies for instance. She wasn’t pleased when I gave her a t-shirt to wear.

Oh God. This thread is so old the dress has probably fallen apart by now. My excuse is the thread was shown in Trending Now. What was the excuse for the poster who revived it?

Actionhasmagic · 27/09/2019 08:59

Yabu I would wear this to work

Hwory · 27/09/2019 10:02

I’m on this thread defending the dress. Good times hahah

Lovely dress but a tad unprofessional for a work environment.

Used to work with someone who regularly wore a dress with a very deep v back, something like this

lol! I work in an office and today I'm wearing ratty jeans, trainers, and a sweater I've had since I was about 15. The dress is fine!
