She is stunning, and very personable, IMO.

cosmicglittergirl · 28/03/2015 20:47

*she's

PeasinPod1 · 28/03/2015 20:48

They are both as bad as each other- fame/money hungry- clearly!

BitOfFun · 28/03/2015 20:49

I think most people would do their best financially for their family while they had their chance in an industry not noted for the longevity of its high fliers, wouldn't they?

goldface · 28/03/2015 20:51

But she isn't doing live telly every sat night of the year is she? I remember reading an interview with some celeb who said that whilst she would work lots of hours over a few weeks she would then have a few weeks where she wasn't working at all. It's just a different balance that's all.
I think Emma Willis is a confident, competent presenter and broadcaster who also happens to be beautiful.
As others have said, I don't see anyone questioning how much Marvin Humes spends with his kids....

Petitgrain · 28/03/2015 20:51

You're not actually taking on board anything anyone says are you peas. So the question is, what does Emma Willis ' parenting style have to do with you?

JohnFarleysRuskin · 28/03/2015 20:51

Yeah well you said it peas.

ihatethecold · 28/03/2015 20:52

Peas.
I have worked every weekend for the last 9 years.
My kids have turned out fine.

Those judgeypants must be giving you a bloody great wedgie!

PeasinPod1 · 28/03/2015 20:52

I'm so far from a smug round the clock parent, I would give anything to have her freedom of choice, I'd always want career and if in her shoes just be far pickier about the jobs I took on...sure do the big shows/money earners like the Voice/BB that run for several months 3/4 times a year...but why the 4 hour Sunday show ever weekend? Why these other trashy awful shows in between? Just no need.

JohnFarleysRuskin · 28/03/2015 20:53

You sound absolutely ridiculous peas.

Genuinely.

Mumteadumpty · 28/03/2015 20:55

So OP, if she works at weekends, maybe she has time in the week to pick her kids up from school, and spend evenings, do bedtimes etc.

ssd · 28/03/2015 20:58

I can understand her taking every job offered, presenters seem to come and go so shes taking the work whilst its there, cant argue with that

just wishing she would calm it down a bit, the shouty presenter it...maybe she models herself on Davina?

OP posts:
PeasinPod1 · 28/03/2015 20:59

So John.. so I sound "ridiculous" just for saying for someone who already has the money, who has the career, who already works weekends/evenings, who has the absolute luxury that 99.9% of the population do not have in being able to pick and choose when to work, which jobs/roles to work and if to accept more work, should maybe turn a few (rather crappy, but still v time consuming ) jobs down to actually see her children more often? ok then, but how sad!

StillProcrastinating · 28/03/2015 20:59

Threads like this give Mumsnet the nest of vipers reputation.

Totally uncalled for. She's one of us - a mother, trying to do the best for her children, enjoying the opportunities that come her way. And this thread has some personal attacks on her that are unnecessary.

Not sure why I care, I am going back to my wine and happy vibes.

Petitgrain · 28/03/2015 21:00

Oh get a life peas.

Salmotrutta · 28/03/2015 21:00

Who was the singer with the hair over her face?

Confused

Does she always appear like that?

RiojaHaze · 28/03/2015 21:01

That was Sia. Yeah I think so, she's never in her own videos either. Massively talented lady.

ssd · 28/03/2015 21:02

god knows, something like see her? I thought it was lady gaga!

OP posts:
WorraLiberty · 28/03/2015 21:02

I like her

She's a great presenter and comes across as a genuinely nice person.

Gosh some people like to rip into other women

MistressMerryWeather · 28/03/2015 21:02

There doesn't have to be a need, it's fine for her to accept the job offers because she simply enjoys what she does. It that really so shocking?

We have no idea what goes on in her family life so you have no right to judge.

goldface · 28/03/2015 21:02

How can you possibly comment on her having enough money?! How do you know what financial commitments and responsibilities she may have? Honestly, I just can't understand why people are so judgemental of utter strangers! If you don't like her presenting style how about turning the channel?

RingtheBells · 28/03/2015 21:02

OP started a thread about her presenting style and somehow it has become derailed by a couple of posters obsessing about how much she sees her children. Nothing to do with her presenting abilities.

basgetti · 28/03/2015 21:02

I read an interview with her recently where she said she is lucky as she gets days off during the week to have family time with her children, and the grandparents are also very hands on. I really like her.

JohnFarleysRuskin · 28/03/2015 21:03

Did I say ridiculous ? I meant to say you sound like a complete twat.

MistressMerryWeather · 28/03/2015 21:07

Just in case this ends up in the Daily Fail

THE MAJORITY OF POSTERS ARE ACTUALLY DEFENDING EMMA WILLIS, NOT JUDGING HER

We don't want another Holdengate.
