She's loaded so she should stop work?

Seriously?!

blondegirl73 · 28/03/2015 20:29

I love Emma Willis.

You know who else has young kids and a popstar spouse? Her co-presenter Marvin. Shall we talk about how little he sees his kids?

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 28/03/2015 20:29

I think she looks lovely. She's sweet and chatty and seems nice.

Every time, and I mean every time Rita Ora comes on I utter the immortal words 'what the fuck is she wearing?' Hmm

ssd · 28/03/2015 20:31

she screams too much, thats what annoys me...just realised..

She's very pretty Envy but I actually like her she's very zingy and perfect for The Voice, I think she has a great rapport with all the crew/stars/marvin as well as the contestants. Good on her and so bloody what if she's from Sutton coldfield and done well?! Good on her! Smile

LoveVintage · 28/03/2015 20:32

I really like her. She is gorgeous and seems genuinely nice. But the clothes she is wearing this series are bloody awful.

PeasinPod1 · 28/03/2015 20:33

glenthebattleostrich -why reduce your augment to stereotypes, why does spending time at home at the weekend mean you must be washing your husbands boxers?

Why it does mean is spending precious, relaxed time with your young children you do not get during the week. You can celebrate her taking on a lot of weekend/evening work- thats fine. But IMO doing a Saturday job- all afternoon/night and then working every Sunday- never enjoying a lazy Sunday morning at home, with kids (her 4 hr radio show is every Sunday) is quite sad for me actually.
I'm happy you feel so delighted she doesn't see her kids much and is standing up for your feminist principles though!

Fact is, she doesn't have to do this all. Between them both they will earn an absolute fortune, she is already successful, Im simply saying stop accepting even more new shows/commitments (and pretty trashy C5/ITV2 ones at that so hardly furthering her career) to see her kids more isn't too much of a sacrifice.
The majority of working mums don't have the choice, she has the luxury of it given the type of work being contracts and her earnings being x 20 of average salary at least, yet she still does it.

Charley50 · 28/03/2015 20:33

I loves her.

SuperFlyHigh · 28/03/2015 20:33

fitz yes I agree she's very different from giggly Holly Willoughbooby and Miss Simper/Smarmy Tess Daly.

AnnieMoor · 28/03/2015 20:37

I think she's lovely, not mad about her reedy voice.

RiojaHaze · 28/03/2015 20:38

I think she's great too. I didn't know she had a radio show but when she's presenting the voice and she did big brother, they don't seem to be that labour intensive so potentially gets loads of time at home with her family.

Her figure is great too, definitely not skeletal.

Gunpowder · 28/03/2015 20:38

Yeh, yeh she has very good reputation. Lovely to runners, v professional, friendly.

Petitgrain · 28/03/2015 20:38

Erm.....what the actual fuck has how much time Emma Willis spends with her children got to do with you?! Fuuuucking hell. What a stupid, stupid thing to say.

glenthebattleostrich · 28/03/2015 20:39

Peas you are the one reducing her role. I was pointing out how rediculous your view is in my opinion. As you point out, they both earn shed loafs so why restrict it to a relaxed Sunday? Why can't they live their lives as they see fit and have Wednesday as their chill out day? And do please answer, would you say the same about a male presenter?

JohnFarleysRuskin · 28/03/2015 20:39

So peas you think everyone who doesn't live the same weekend lifestyle as you is quite sad?

And any mother who has money should stop work?

Wow. How fucked up.

XiCi · 28/03/2015 20:40

She seems to be a lovely person , is beautiful and very successful and manages to do all this with 2 small children. Obviously this seems to have some pathetic people seething with jealousy. Sad
And the comments that she shouldn't be pursuing a career because she has kids. Really?? I have no fucking words

MagicMojito · 28/03/2015 20:40

Ffs Hmm ...

RingtheBells · 28/03/2015 20:42

But you knows wimmin should be at home weekends with the children and only work school hours.

Scattymere · 28/03/2015 20:42

Also find her bit annoying and don't enjoy her presenting, in BB she is rubbish in her exit interviews.Wish there were more/better female presenters, the pot is pretty empty.

ColdAsIceCubes · 28/03/2015 20:42

Emma Willis is awesome (and I fancy her DH!)

Freyathecatt · 28/03/2015 20:44

I'm astounded by this thread. There is currently a thread about the glass ceiling for women and why there aren't more women in senior positions in organisations and we have women here cussing Emma Willis for taking on jobs to raise her profile and progress in her career??

Are the same questions asked about Marissa Miller and her ilk, or is it just because Emma Willis is 'too shouty' and wears ugly dresses?

PeasinPod1 · 28/03/2015 20:45

how exactly can she make Weds her at home/chill out day?! her kids will be at nursery/school, so evenings/weekend ARE pretty much the only time she'd see them...but she doesn't- we know this- as she is on our tells and radio- live.
Please don't make out this is the norm, that the majority of women who have a choice would do this, and I'm so mental to suggest otherwise.

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 28/03/2015 20:45

Peasin how often do you think her pop star husband, currently on tour, sees his kids? Do you slag him off on Internet forums for taking the cash over family life?

beanlovesb · 28/03/2015 20:47

I like Emma Willis. She's so popular though there was bound to be a backlash brigade at some point, people love to hate on popular people don't they? I think she's gorgeous and natural on camera and I enjoy watching her. She seems very genuine too - if you ever see her on screen with her husband they are sweet together. oh and I used to live near her and saw her, Matt and kids doing a weekly shop in sainsburys once. Seemed very normal.

Whoever was going on about how much she works, how do you know for a fact that her radio show isn't pre-recorded for a start? I know nothing about her personal life but I don't think we have any evidence to surmise that by working daily she is negligent or making selfish choices... but then we can't all be smug around the clock parents can we... Hmm

cosmicglittergirl · 28/03/2015 20:47

She lives near me and we have the same hairdresser. Every time I see her she a with her kids...
