Yesterday I tried a slice of this new fangled chocolate beetroot cake. It was like gnawing on a piece of the Berlin Wall. And there was a distinct taste of..............beetroot.

Why do people insist that beetroot cake works? The only way I can see it working is as a blunt implement with which to knock out an assailant.

I've heard rumours of courgette cake too and I have to say, I'm sceptical.

I have always found pumpkin pies cloying: it's the combination of those spices with the pumpkin, I think, keepitsimple0. I once made a pumpkin pie with fresh ginger and no nutmeg, allspice and whatnot which was lovely. or I could imagine it with lemon juice and peel to make it fresher.

squoosh my kids adore avacado smooties, sometimes just milk, sugar and avacado or with banana as well. Delicious.

People in Brazil always find it freaky that we eat avocados as savory food, it's a fruit. They eat them sweet, not in cakes though Confused.
They also put star fruit in salads, it's pretty tangy, crunchy and works.

I used to make a really nice potato pudding. It was lovely with almonds and sultanas.

I st years since I made it, I'm quite tempted to do it again!
