To pretend the cat did it and now I've had to put socks on her?

So,I stupidly left a very large family jar of beetroot juice on the kitchen counter and went away for two days. I returned to shattered jar and dried beetroot juice in the light grey grout of my kitchen floor - cue bloody cat references from DP as nothing is getting the stain out. Sooooo I decided to pour pure bleach into the grout, not just a couple of lines to test the result/effect... The entire floor!! Now DP is on his way home, I've gone bleach blind due to the fumes, the kitchen is soaked in bleach that WONT lift and I've used the steamer on it which has made it worse x 100! The cat is now wearing my socks tied on with my hair bobbles and really not happy, but I can't get it off the floor and I'm worried she will get hurt by the bleach, DP will have final proof that I'm a complete nugget so WIBU to blame the cat for spilling bleach? Hmm

Paula - the case is R v Brown and is probably the most well known case amongst law students EVER! I recommend a stiff gin prior to reading.

I love that it's not just me that does this sort of thing!!

PaulaJane37 · 05/03/2015 20:22

Wyld you KNOW I'm going to have to look that up!!! I had a dodgy boyfriend once... Wonder if we apply the moorov....

Paula, I think most people do when they hear about it. It involves sandpaper and various other implements...

Shudder....

LMGTFY · 05/03/2015 22:34

Once you've heard it you can't unhear it though, it's the one criminal law case that has stuck with me for over a decade, I'm sure my lecturer took pleasure in the details mind you!

Ps, classics nomination from me too, my first ever!

WyldChyld · 05/03/2015 23:50

LM - my lecturer relished telling us in great detail! I think it's the one pleasure they get sometimes xD he did say he had someone faint at the facts once xD

Ha ha kitty, now that I would like to have seen.

Yes she appears to have forgiven me, I got my face stroked this morning to get up at around 4 Shock

She bolted downstairs and on to the unit and screamed for a treat, which she got as she was going to wake up the whole house and then I went back to bed and she played with my hair or ate some of it, I'm not entirely sure what it is she does, because she was allowed on the bed!

I have Tonkinese cats and they used to get up to all sorts of antics in their youth, they are 16 now.
One used to pat our labrador's face until she opened her mouth then the cat would scratch her face on the dog's teeth!

How were your cats' colours described on the pedigrees? I have never seen either black or white Siamese. I did have a tortie point and my Tonks are 'cream' with blue eyes and 'lilac' with peculiar coloured eyes.

To pretend the cat did it and now I've had to put socks on her?
SquirrelledAway · 06/03/2015 08:08

A black or white Siamese type should be called an Oriental Shorthair - they don't have the typical Siamese points (so technically can't be called Siamese) or blue eyes. They do have all the character traits of the Sianese though - including that loud yowl.

wickedlazy · 06/03/2015 13:02

I was actually crying with laughter there at sand shoe Grin

thegreylady · 06/03/2015 14:50

Thanks Squirrelled that's what I thought but I wasn't certain. The Siamese 'voice' has to be heard to be believed. My tonks sound like demented sheep at times! My tortie point loved playing 'fetch' with rolled up paper whereas my sealpoint was much mor genteel :)

PaulaJane37 · 06/03/2015 16:25

Grey lady, sapphire was a tabby point but looked almost white with massive blue eyes, squirreled is right jasmine is an oriental. Their pedigree names are rose of June and raven blue

Kitty, they loved each other to begin with but then hated each other after the kittens were born Hmm

Wow, they are gorgeous, they look like they're making a little heart. The only time my 2 (siblings) go near each other is when they're fighting. She won't even eat near him!
