...to think we as wives and mums deserve a treat or a day off, lets say at least once a month, to enjoy and relax ourselves shopping, eating out, visiting ....

a friend, museum or art gallery, spending some money on clothes, books or any treat you like and deciding to put on my diary as an appointment that cannot be cancelled. What do you think?...

OP posts:
sillymillyb · 26/02/2015 21:45

That sounds awesome. Will you watch ds for me?

DeliciousMonster · 26/02/2015 21:46

Surely as an adult if you feel that you need a day then you take a day?

kitchentableagain · 26/02/2015 21:46

I'd settle for one night's sleep tbh.

Spa vouchers. That's what I want. Unlimited spa vouchers....

ElectraCute · 26/02/2015 21:47

Are we allowed this even if we're not 'wives'?

Cabrinha · 26/02/2015 21:47

I think I haven't a clue why you posted this!

"Wives and mums" at not a homogenous group.

I do all those things.

Why don't you?

TondelayoSchwarzkopf · 26/02/2015 21:47

A museum? No Ta. The rest - I do at least once a week if not once a day.

SaucyJack · 26/02/2015 21:48

I tried to put on my diary.

It didn't fit Hmm

Cabrinha · 26/02/2015 21:48

I despair that top of your list is shopping though. How dull.

hazeyjane · 26/02/2015 21:49

I think my dh deserves all those things too tbh.

Dawndonnaagain · 26/02/2015 21:49

Bollocks. Everybody deserves a day off now and then. Doesn't mean it's going to happen, for many it is an impossibility.

Mrsmorton · 26/02/2015 21:49

How odd.

Just take a day, wives and mums aren't any more special than husbands and carers or anyone else for that matter.

Are you advertising something? [checks op for product placement]

Shopping? Confused Not enjoyable.

What's your beef with men then OP?

TondelayoSchwarzkopf · 26/02/2015 21:52

How do you mean "enjoy a friend?" Grin

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 26/02/2015 21:52

I don't really think you can generalise to that extent. All wives and mothers? What about people who are neither?

misstiredbuthappy · 26/02/2015 21:52

Its sounds great if you can get a babysitter Grin

FryOneFatManic · 26/02/2015 21:53

I may be a wife and mum, but I'm also a hell of a lot of other things too. You actually sound patronising.

If I want to do something I'll do it, no permission needed.

bluebirdonmyshoulder · 26/02/2015 21:53

You only aspire to do those things once a month? Bollocks to that.

And it sounds like you think you need to ask permission from someone to basically be, you know, a human adult. Bollocks to that too.

hmc · 26/02/2015 21:54

Yanbu - and Biscuit to the snippy posters dissecting your posts (especially Electracute - fgs!)

I need to remind myself to prioritise myself sometimes - I think a lot of parents do

AnyFucker · 26/02/2015 21:54

Christ, what infantilising horseshit

TondelayoSchwarzkopf · 26/02/2015 21:55

I think it's a post sponsored by Galaxy.

Or maybe Boots.

WayfaringStranger · 26/02/2015 21:56

Erm, why just mums and wives? Don't dads and husbands deserve it too?

ElectraCute · 26/02/2015 21:58

Ooooooh, a biscuit! Is that my treat?

Bumpkin2 · 26/02/2015 21:58

Food shopping without my 2 year old is almost a treat in itself!

GiddyOnZackHunt · 26/02/2015 21:59

I think if you have to make such a big deal of it then you maybe need to address the reasons why it's a big deal.
