To feel like shoving my sister's lasagne up her behind!

My sister made a freezable lasagne for my ds's birthday party but unfortunately we had to cancel the party twice due to DS being poorly. Now my sister has said that as we aren't having a party now she wants it back.

Is it me or is this a bit mean? I know it cost her a bit to make but hopefully not that much and we did originally offer to cover the cost of the ingredients but she refused. If the situation was reversed I would feel so sorry for her having to cancel a child's birthday party I wouldn't even think to ask for something back that I had made!! Especially with family - but am I expecting too much?!

I must add that I actually love my inlaws but they are a huge family so you're bound to have a couple of erm colourful ones. Grin

avocadotoast · 22/02/2015 23:30

Does she not just mean she wants the lasagne dish back? That would make sense.

Otherwise, totally weird, YANBU.

ARoomWithoutAView · 22/02/2015 23:32

We are losing it. 5 minutes ago it was clearly going up behind, but I sense some wavering. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity OP, next time it might be spag bol - nowhere near as good.

Staywithme · 22/02/2015 23:32

Ask Avocado, don't spoil it by being reasonable. SadGrin I prefer the ops version.

Lottie5 · 22/02/2015 23:38

No it was definitely not the dish (the dish is mine!) she wanted back - it was the meal in it!!! Don't feel I can cook it for the family now - I feel it was never mine in the first place! Spaghetti would be much harder to get up her bottom - this is probably my last chance!!

Up the arse. If it won't go, use a croquet mallet.

Lottie5 · 22/02/2015 23:41

Who the heck has a croquet mallet?!

OP posts:
whothehellknows · 22/02/2015 23:42

I think you'll need some kind of funnel.

ARoomWithoutAView · 22/02/2015 23:42

Is it perhaps worth going to Relate first, talk things through?

ARoomWithoutAView · 22/02/2015 23:45

Whoa.... whoa... hold on.... its your dish?
Just wondering now if behind is still sensible?

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 22/02/2015 23:46

Is she hosting a party perhaps, and thinks it would be easier than making another?

I make a very nice lasagne if I do say so myself but it is a bit of a pain to do. So if I knew there was one just hanging around I might be tempted...

I would explain though and ask it as a favour, rather than "hand over the lasagne!".

Shockers · 22/02/2015 23:47

I have a croquet mallet! Would you like to borrow it OP?

Just don't ask me where it came from...

LineRunner · 22/02/2015 23:48

Yep, up the arse.

With chilli sauce.

SycamoreMum · 22/02/2015 23:50

Random but yes another arse vote.

Lottie5 · 22/02/2015 23:51

Moly holy - it was going to be more for the adults and older kids who didn't want fish fingers and pizza.

Is there a back story? What kind of back story is needed here?!!!

OP posts:
Lottie5 · 22/02/2015 23:53

Shockers - thank you for the offer and for being open about the mallet only being on loan - if only everyone was as forthright as you.

OP posts:
ARoomWithoutAView · 22/02/2015 23:54

Lucky for Sister she didn't make a pizza. Ow!

YvesJutteau · 22/02/2015 23:54

Of course she can have it back - post it to her in a Nifty bag. Without the dish, obviously, since that's yours.

YvesJutteau · 22/02/2015 23:55

Jiffy, not Nifty. Damnyouautocorrect.

Lottie5 · 22/02/2015 23:56

Am gutted there's no such thing as a nifty bag

OP posts:
TheCatsFlaps · 22/02/2015 23:57

She sounds a tad...cuntish?

Longdistancenerves · 22/02/2015 23:57

'Accidentally' drop it when you deliver it back to her.

Or eat it. Whichever is less childish Grin

Silverdaisy · 22/02/2015 23:57

No issue really. Just give it back to her. Life is too short to bother about it.

Momagain1 · 22/02/2015 23:58

Yes, yes. , that's it. Perfectly sensible, Yves

Longdistancenerves · 22/02/2015 23:59

X post- hadn't seen about the dish! Don't drop it and break it, instead slop it in a Tupperware container and post it through the letter box.
