To ask if you fancy or know anyone who fancies Roger Moore?

I'm watching Octopussy and Roge is giving some young lovely his best sex moves while some plinky plonky muzak plays in the background. I have to admit that it's not really not doing much for me, my loins are untingled. It then occurred to me that we all know people who fancy Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig but have you ever met someone who's said 'Oooooh that Roger Moore is so hot'?

No one wants to be rogered by Roger Moore.

He's more like some saucy old cove at the golf club bar than a suave Secret Service agent.

Definitely untingled loins here as well. I actually had an (almost) argument with my mum because I said I thought he was a ridiculous Bond - he's not suave or sexy at all (and yes I know that's objectifying, but that's part of the Bond package! A sexy, sophisticated womaniser-type), and she tried to back RM up! Saying that, she doesn't fancy him either. I think he comes across as a bit of a dirty old lech as Bond; I can imagine him sitting alone at the bar at a private member's club and checking out all the ladies 20+ years younger than him.

I had a soft spot for old Roge when I was about five (and very into Bond... My parents were pretty laissez-faire when it came to what we were watching). Also Mr T. Outs self My tastes are somewhat different now.

PilchardPrincess · 22/02/2015 17:30

You've missed some off the list.

There was model-chap although I can't remember what he looks like
And thingy who was quite good but not much of a looker

So not all hot

PilchardPrincess · 22/02/2015 17:31

george lazenby = not all that quite frankly

ilovesooty · 22/02/2015 17:31

To be fair this film is very much towards the end of his Bond career.

PilchardPrincess · 22/02/2015 17:31

timothy dalton would you?

squoosh · 22/02/2015 17:32

Oh yeah Timothy Dalton was pretty good looking, if not a very good Bond.

I dunno roger moore it was the bad blazers in the later films that didn't help.

No I wouldn't though.

PilchardPrincess · 22/02/2015 17:34

Oh do you like him?

I don't like that whole bum chin thing.

Craig might have to put a bag over his head too. I mean he's not a pretty face is he. And yes I know he wouldn't do me either Grin

WONAR · 22/02/2015 17:35

Timothy Dalton is much more like it!!! Grin

championnibbler · 22/02/2015 17:35

I fancied Roger Moore when Octopussy first came out.
but i was only about 9 at the time. Grin

PilchardPrincess · 22/02/2015 17:37

Timothy dalton was brilliant in hot fuzz

squoosh · 22/02/2015 17:39

Roge is now wearing a khaki waistcoat, the sort of thing my Dad wears when he has to take the bins out or trim the hedge in the front garden.

I will say this much about him though:-
he's a great raconteur and tells a great story, as seen on numerous chat shows.
he has a good sense of humour about himself, doesn't take himself too seriously and comes across as pretty humble.
he's also done a huge amount of work for Save the Children.
Also, i believe that he was actually a very good actor, as seen in some of his early films (which i've not watched, i just read it somewhere.)

fizzycolagurlie · 22/02/2015 17:40

In the 1970s when i was a child my mum's friend liked him. That was before he got old (is he still alive even?)

PiranhaBrothers · 22/02/2015 17:40

Roger Moore? God, no. Shock

Marylou2 · 22/02/2015 17:41

Roger Moore's always been my favourite Bond. Suave and sophisticated, a man of the world.I so would...Grin .

squoosh · 22/02/2015 17:42

I can believe the raconteur bit champion, I get the feeling he's modelled himself on David Niven. Now David Niven I loooooooove.

He's taking another young lovely to sexy heaven now. On an ocotopus shaped bed.

JennyOnTheBlocks · 22/02/2015 17:44

eeew, no thanks

now Pierce Brosnan

championnibbler · 22/02/2015 17:44

UNICEF not Save the Children.
he often said he was very upset by the dire poverty he saw in India when he was filming octopussy, and so went on to help UNICEF ever since.

squoosh · 22/02/2015 17:45

Marylou! Good for you, be out and proud about your Roger love.

I had a teenage crush on George Lazenby as Bond. Blush

SwedishEdith · 22/02/2015 17:46

He's always seemed old to me, like someone's posh dad. Yes, to being a golf club type. There was another one as well - George Lazenby. Need to check what he looked like...

icelollycraving · 22/02/2015 17:46

I love him. My fave Bond is Pierce Brosnan but for a bit of cheesy eyebrow raising you can't beat Roge.
