To ask if you fancy or know anyone who fancies Roger Moore?

I'm watching Octopussy and Roge is giving some young lovely his best sex moves while some plinky plonky muzak plays in the background. I have to admit that it's not really not doing much for me, my loins are untingled. It then occurred to me that we all know people who fancy Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig but have you ever met someone who's said 'Oooooh that Roger Moore is so hot'?

No one wants to be rogered by Roger Moore.

He's more like some saucy old cove at the golf club bar than a suave Secret Service agent.

I've decided I definitely would have fancied him in the 60s to 80s.

I had a bit of a thing for Rog when I was young. But then I think Captain James Kirk was probably my first crush, so I shouldn't be used as any sort of measure.

I did - he's one of the first men I remember fancying! Leaves me cold these days, though.

I read one of Roger Moore's autobiographies in January and he came over really well, my opinion of him increased on reading it.

One of my older ladies had a stroke last weekend while watching 'For Your Eyes Only'.

I'm not saying it's Roger Moore's fault, but I feel very differently about him now.

Had this exact discussion with DP when Octopussy was on. How on earth was Roger Moore meant to be sex-god type Bond? Yuk. He's ugly and really not sexy at all.

But then I had to stop watching as the whole film was winding me up with all the dumb dolly bird types, and misogyny and patriarchy and 70s attitudes to women at that time and just yuk! I gave up at one of the cringey sex scenes. Bleurgh.

The only person I've ever met who fancied Roger Moore was teh mother of a Uni friend. Her DH bore a striking resemblance to Rog, which was probably why.

I saw Tiomothy Dalton at my station last month. He was scruffy but very smiley and twinkly. I have to saqy I definitely would even now, but only after giving him a shower and a shave.

Daniel Craig is oddly lumpy. Lazenby would be attractive with a bit of modern styling. Connery I agree was handsome but too obviously a shit (hence the best Bond-that's how the role was written by Fleming).

Best Bond villain is much more difficult to call. I lean towards Klaus Maria Brandauer in that odd late film Connery did in a wig.

Best Bond woman is Michelle Yeoh, no question.

Definitely never fancied Roger Moore. Nor Sean Connery, even before the wife-beating revelations. Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig were more like it, although the latter is rapidly starting to resemble Sid James Bond as he ages. Timothy Dalton was pretty gorgeous in The Lion in Winter when he was 21 and as Heathcliff in Wurhering Heights.

I used to live next door to him in Chalfont St Giles. That is not relevant to the question but it's taken 15 years before his name has come up.

Pierce Brosnan is the Bond for me. Sean Connery too, although he's probably 3 times my age Never took to Daniel Craig. Seems arrogant IMO.

I think Daniel Craig may be on the short side so I'll have to plump for Pierce Brosnan.

Best Bond baddie has to be Javier Bardem in Skyfall. A brilliant mix of camp and utterly terrifying.

Yes, Bardem was amazing. It'll be interesting to see if Christoph Waltz can top that and if he is indeed playing Blofeld.

I quite liked Olga Kurylenko's Bond girl in Quantum of Solace as she was tough and IIRC there was no real romance with Bond.

Nah to Bond but I loved him when he was Simon Templar in The Saint.

Roger Moore no no no! I'm sure he's a thoroughly nice man but he is and always has been deeply unsexy AFAIC. Also all the stupid quips he delivered in the Bond films got my goat.

Sean Connery. Just watch and you might change your mind about him as a person, although he was suave as Bond. Vile man though.
