To wonder how so many people on Eastenders can die instantly from a slight knock to the head?

Let's see

Heather
Tiffany
Saskia to name a few

And now Lucy, killed accidentally by her 10 year old brother with a musical box. It doesn't seem very likely does it?

Lucy had already had a few blows to the head prior to Bobby smacking her one.

Anonimousy · 22/02/2015 14:50

Really? I must have missed that. I remember her hurting herself when she had an argument with Max.

In any case though. Although the head is obviously very vulnerable this doesn't seem credible.

She had a blow to the head when she was with Max

Another few when Denise was fighting with her

She'd already had a fight with Abby

Sallystyle · 22/02/2015 14:51

Remember Abbie 'Battered her' and so did Denise and Jake.

I loved that line from Abbie 'I saw Lucy and Battered her Grin

Lj8893 · 22/02/2015 14:52

The entire flashback episode where we discovered it was bobby was full of her being hit on the head.

didn't tiffany get hit by a car??

Sallystyle · 22/02/2015 14:52

x posted.

Sallystyle · 22/02/2015 14:52

And since when were soaps credible?

fatlazymummy · 22/02/2015 14:53

It's Eastenders, not real life. If you can't suspend your disbelief there's no point watching it. This does seem like on the silliest things ever, though.
Personally I rarely watch it, mainly because I find it too unbelievable.

Writerwannabe83 · 22/02/2015 14:56

One thing that confused me was when Jayne told Ian that she was on her way to the hospital with Lucy but at the last minute chose to take her to the Common instead. A few minutes after saying that she said Lucy had been in the boot.

If she genuinely was taking Lucy to the hospital then why would she have hidden her in the boot?

Anonimousy · 22/02/2015 14:59

Oh yes I know soaps aren't supposed to be credible. It just struck me that, having watched things like The Sopranos where it clearly takes a lot of effort to kill someone it seems unbelievable that someone could die so easily (not just Lucy).

I do not think that Jane would have taken Lucy to the common - it makes no sense.

How does Lauren know that Lucy died at home? I still haven't figured out the significance of that yellow piece of paper.

Tiffany fell and hit her head on a curb and died instantly from that iirc.

Didn't Tiffany get hit on the head by a car?

Alisvolatpropiis · 22/02/2015 15:01

Cross post!

differentnameforthis · 22/02/2015 15:01

Tiffany got hit by a car & smashed her head on the edge of the curb.

Writerwannabe83 · 22/02/2015 15:01

Nor me - I have no idea how both Emma and then Lauren worked it out. I hope it gets explained.

SilverDragonfly1 · 22/02/2015 15:35

I wondered why, if Jane was initially taking Lucy to the hospital, she put her in the boot...

myshinynewusername · 22/02/2015 15:45

Tiffany's dead??!!

Lj8893 · 22/02/2015 15:56

Umm yeah she died years ago! I was about 9 when she died and she was my favourite character and i cried alot!

BlueThursday · 22/02/2015 15:57

Tiffany had had a head injury prior to being run over. I'm sure she fell down the stairs in the Vic.

She walked about for weeks with a headband/bandage thing

ilovesooty · 22/02/2015 15:59

I think Pauline died when she fell and hit her head too. Think she might have had a brain haemorrhage though.

Lj8893 · 22/02/2015 16:08

Yeah blue i think your right

BlueThursday · 22/02/2015 16:15

Oh and Den of course got smacked in the head with Pauline's doorstop thing

(Clearly used to watch this too much!)

Lj8893 · 22/02/2015 16:20

Ahh i only remember den the 2nd time round, but didn't he get hit in the head with the queen vic statue?

handfulofcottonbuds · 22/02/2015 16:23

Archie got hit over the head too with the Queen Vic bust

Good point about the whole boot thing with Lucy, I didn't think of that.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/02/2015 16:27

No, Den didn't get clobbered by The Queen Victoria bust, it was a small black dog statue that got hidden away (IIRC in Paulines undersink cupboard)

Pauline had a little terrier, Betty, think this was a commerorative ornament?
