Writer - I think from one of the threads earlier this week Lauren worked it out because Emma's notes (the scrap of paper that fell under the Brannings' kitchen cupboard) said 'SOC' and a phone number. 'SOC' means 'scene of crime' and the phone number must have been the Beales' landline number. So Lauren realised Emma knew the scene of crime was Lucy's home, so one of her family members must have been responsible.

Although I don't think Lauren/most people would know what SOC means - and there still hasn't been any explanation of how Emma worked it out. Apparently after Emma was injured and hit her head in the New Year's Day car accident, she was sitting in the Vic and realised that Patrick, who had also hit his head in an accident, was very ill at a later date. So Emma realised that Lucy must have hit her head earlier in the day she died, and the 'fatal blow' was dealt at home. All a bit convoluted!

Mel went to live in Spain IIRC. It was Saskia whom Steve killed with an ashtray - another case of a single blow being the cause of death!
