to think they should charge the Syria girls

If they are indeed with terrorists in Syria then when a small chink of sense comes back to them and they want to come home, I hope they will be charged.

No, I said 'calling for them to be punished'. You have misquoted me and misunderstood my meaning.

adsy · 21/02/2015 09:31

But why shouldn't people be calling for murderers to be punished? Are you saying the media and general public shouldn't express their horror and outrage and demand punishment.
What do you say when you hear of the atrocities. Do you just shrug your shouldres and not comment?

LokiBear · 21/02/2015 09:35

And yes, I still feel sorry for them. You are talking about children being brainwashed to murder other children in the name of religion. It is happening under our noses in thus country and not enough is being done to stop it. It is horrendous, terrifying and wrong. It makes me so angry. Nothing about it is okay, but simply blaming these children isn't going to solve anything. We need to tackle the root cause.

adsy · 21/02/2015 09:37

You still feel sorry for them with the scenario that they bomb a school? Wow! you are dangerous.

OP posts:
Stealthpolarbear · 21/02/2015 09:37

ut they arent murderers

creighton · 21/02/2015 09:38

who should stop this brainwashing? who is responsible?

adsy · 21/02/2015 09:38

But they want to marry murderes and support them in their atrocities.

OP posts:
LokiBear · 21/02/2015 09:38

I'm outraged, like everyone else. What a ridiculous thing to say.
I'm bowing out of this thread now. I will have to agree to disagree with you. The beauty of living in this country is that we both have the right to our own opinions.

Stealthpolarbear · 21/02/2015 09:38

enuine question, what crime have hey commiteed
i seem to remember some new law about it being illegalto do this am i rmemebering right

adsy · 21/02/2015 09:41

There's a law to the effect of knowingly associating with terrorists.

OP posts:
adsy · 21/02/2015 09:42

Yep. and my opinion will be never to have sympathy for terrorists but we obviously disagree in that.

nochocolateforlentteacake · 21/02/2015 09:45

They are unpredictable though. They snuck off and their families are all 'we never saw that coming...'. They have pinned their colours to a violent and genocidal group.

We don't know what they will see with their own eyes should they reach their destination.

They can't not know what these people do, aim to do and their behaviour. Bragging about murder, torture, rape, slavery and paedophilia and posting film of it? Hmm, not exactlu great potential husband material (plus the added bonus of potential other wives and the lure if the virgins in Paradise...). I mean who would want a man who says 'I murder so I can have sex with virgins for eternity'?

Victims or potential terrorists should they return? Who can tell for sure?

Stealthpolarbear · 21/02/2015 09:47

i suspect once they reach their destination they will be publically held hostage

Stealthpolarbear · 21/02/2015 09:48

walking into a trap

skylark2 · 21/02/2015 09:52

"Teenagers know the difference between right and wrong. I can't see how people can have any sympathy for them."

No, adsy. Teenagers are starting to understand that life isn't just right and wrong. And sometimes they get the bits in between very, very wrong.

Presumably you're a bright preteen who still sees the world in black and white. You write well for your age...but you're going to be really embarrassed about the childish crap you've posted when you grow up a bit. These girls are not much older than you are. They're at the next stage of development from you, where they've realised that some arguments aren't completely wrong, but are struggling to understand that that doesn't make them completely right.

adsy · 21/02/2015 09:52

And you know what stealth I would still have no sympathy for them

OP posts:
adsy · 21/02/2015 09:53

skylark with the greatest respect, WTF are you on about!

OP posts:
Tinkerball · 21/02/2015 09:56

By saying they are at different stages of development just sounds like making excuses for them, sorry. It's not a "struggle" to understand murdering innocent people is wrong.

adsy · 21/02/2015 09:56

I will admit to being quite black and white in my thinking that murderers and people who actively support them should be punished. Not quite sure how that has knocked 30 years off my age but hey ho.

OP posts:
kissmyheathenass · 21/02/2015 09:57

No sympathy whatsoever. They are old enough to understand what they are doing. I'm gobsmacked by the apologists on here. I really am.

SuperWifeANDMum · 21/02/2015 09:57

They should be stripped of their British Citizenship and be told they have to stay in Syria. That of course would never happen.

The government should not be letting these ISIS recruits back into the country, charging them is simply not enough.

AuntieStella · 21/02/2015 09:58

"who should stop this brainwashing? who is responsible?"

I don't know if a government should ever be expected to have sole responsibility, but the British government has been running programmes for years now, in cooperation with expert, religious and community groups. Both deradicalisation and counter-radicalisation.

That's why I asked if the quality if programme is poor, hiw should it be done differently? And I suppose that might encompass who might be better at doing it?

skylark2 · 21/02/2015 09:59

You clearly don't understand that life for teens and adults is a bit more complicated than right and wrong, adsy.

That's what I'm on about. Can you try thinking about it, instead of trying to pretend that if you don't understand something it must make no sense?

Tinkerball · 21/02/2015 09:59

Me to kiss, there's always some people desperate to show how ppolitically correct they can be, even if it is to make excuses for these teenagers.
