To think having children is not a right!

cremeeggcook · 08/02/2015 16:22

If you can't afford children thats just tough! IMO. We should abolish child benefit to be spent on real rights such as having something to eat and decent levels of sanitation. I would rather my hard earned tax went there than child benefit!!

I've never had lobster? How does one prepare it?
When I get my child benefit in 2 months time I'll spend it on that! And the finest wine I can get!
Although whilst working in a school as a SEN teaching assistant at "living wage" for a good few years maybe I don't deserve what I've paid into the system! Gosh darn it!
eBay it is for my baby!
But it'll be ooookaaaaay I can make a keeline pie and cake in a cup and maybe some shortbread! Well buy these items I burn cakes that I make!Confused

MeganChips · 08/02/2015 17:36

We're having Yorkshire puddings filled with Irish stew.

Followed by blueberry and lemon cake which does in fact look like a fat clafoutis.

Chillyegg · 08/02/2015 17:36

Also non alcoholic wine...I'm a Muslim

WilsonWilsonWoman · 08/02/2015 17:37

No dinner tonight. Spent all my CB on fags and sunbeds. Shit.

SorchaN · 08/02/2015 17:37

Chillyegg great plans for your child benefit! If you're burning cakes, it might be because your oven is overheating. Mine underheats and we have to adjust it accordingly. Shame to give up on baking cake!

Chillyegg · 08/02/2015 17:40

Sorchan it's not just burning though! Sometimes they explode! I did admittedly put 4 teaspoons of baking powder in it! Sometimes they fall apart! Sometimes I accidentally put too much flower in! I'm just a terrible baker! My partner on the other hand doesn't even have to follow a recipe....sighSad

I kind of feel as if I should give a reasoned explanation, but get the feeling that it would be lost on OP - who probably merely started this thread because she was bored on a Sunday afternoon and wanted to start a fight.

So, instead, I will hijack the thread to tell you, OP ALL the things wrong with private medicine:

  1. Private hospitals have no capacity for dealing with emergencies. Therefore, in one, you will be carted off to your local NHS hospital
  1. Private healthcare will cherry pick the conditions that it treats. So if it's something serious and you can't pay up - guess what, they send you back to the NHS.
  1. Th NHS has to operate to high standards for patient safety and is accountable to the tax payer, therefore when mistakes happen, we all know about it. This does not happen with a private hospital. Think about it.

Ok, I'm done.

Had roast beef for lunch, followed by sticky toffee pudding.

High rate taxpayer.

Don't get any CB.

Chillyegg · 08/02/2015 17:46

Mn'ers have we technically trolled this thread about baking?

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 08/02/2015 17:48

Preparing lobster is a mare, I can't do the death thing via boiling water.

I like it done for me and there in the supermarket.

SorchaN · 08/02/2015 17:48

Chillyegg Wow, exploding cake! I made exploding pizza once, but never had a cake explode yet! Sounds like a good reason to leave all kitchen activities to your partner though Smile.

Chillyegg · 08/02/2015 17:49

I can cook savoury dishes bizarrely! Well I shall try a prepared lobster ... Laughingly in memory of this thread

queenbrunhilda · 08/02/2015 17:50

Glad everyone on this thread appears to be getting their (just) desserts. I found a Christmas pudding at the back of the cupboard - now steaming on the hob.

Idontseeanysontarans · 08/02/2015 17:51

Chillyegg I think you win the prize for the first person I've seen to ever troll their own thread Grin
Let us in on it - boredom or stealth food thread?

Chillyegg · 08/02/2015 17:54

This actually isn't my thread Confused ...

I wish now I had the genius to do so!

Arsenic · 08/02/2015 17:56

Idontseeanysontarans · 08/02/2015 17:57

Chillyegg · 08/02/2015 17:58

It's ok your momentary accolade made me feel slightly special Grin

ShipwreckedAndComatose · 08/02/2015 17:59

Don't go! Blame it on the Wine

Idontseeanysontarans · 08/02/2015 17:59

I'm actually blushing in real life!! I wouldn't mind but I had a long conversation with DS about reading things properly to get all the information correct this morning!

SergeantJarhead · 08/02/2015 17:59

Roast beef ... with a light side salad and potatoes ... is that odd? I think DH is having a glass of rose (it smells like strawberries and cream, very nice) but I'll stick to coffee until the pee stick gives me the answer I bloody want.

Chillyegg · 08/02/2015 18:03

Awww don't be embarrassed love! I'm not a bad egg Wink and so I'm not offended!

Gasosaurus · 08/02/2015 18:08

I love eggs (most eggs!). Sadly I'm only eating NutriBullet Smoothies most of the time at the moment (except my roast chicken dinner with only boiled veg earlier). I am eating a lot of fruit and veg. I would love cake! Any cake...
