Should have cleaner/tidier houses seeing as they don't work? I'm a sahm with severe disabilities (supported by dh - no hand outs) & I keep my house clean.

Ps this isn't just about people on benefits - it just so happens I'm watching it on TV now.

LineRunner · 29/01/2015 21:24

Who are 'the dla'?

MrsVamos · 29/01/2015 21:24

P'rsps Shiny Dave could adapt it for the election campaign.

To the tune of 'Here Comes The Hotstepper'...

"Here comes the taxpayer"...

ThePrincessBride · 29/01/2015 21:25

< Gerard Butler is moping my kitchen floor in the buff

ilovechristmas1 · 29/01/2015 21:27

claires house is grim and Kayleigh's house needs the walls washed down or painted

sorry but to live like that is just wrong, its all easy to sort as well, maybe they've had the life sucked out of them, bringing 7 kids up would be hard,i do it with 3 and that's plenty

Oswin · 29/01/2015 21:28

People actually pay for there motability cars you know! It comes out of there pip or dla payments.

PunkrockerGirl · 29/01/2015 21:28

EdSheeran · 29/01/2015 21:32

I work full-time, I claim DLA and I have a fucking iPad. Grin

LadyLupin · 29/01/2015 21:34

I have 4 children. Single parent. On benefits.

We have iPads. iPhones. Even my 2 year old has an ipad (SN).

4 flat screen TVs
Two xboxes
Lots of xbox games
Laptops
Nice clothes (well the DC do anyway)
Nice food. Chicken yesterday. Beef tomorrow.
Holiday abroad booked for May.

I don't have a council house. I would quite like one off them. Or a kitten, but I'm not feeling the need for pets right now.

ghostspirit · 29/01/2015 21:34

i have 4 kids my house is a shit tip right now. im pregnant with my 5th. im hoping my nesting stage might kick in soon. if not then i might pay my kids 50p an hour to tidy my house.

ouryve · 29/01/2015 21:35

That's not how it works, Homepride - he also has to pay his mobility allowance towards it. It costs about £9000 over the 3 years. If he no longer qualifies for the higher rate mobility component, the car is taken away.

And higher rate mobility is really hard to get, particularly now that PIP has come in

ThePrincessBride · 29/01/2015 21:38

LadyLupin Can I come and live with you please? Ive got a small human as well though. You go girl.

HelpMeGetOutOfHere · 29/01/2015 21:39

Children need iPads!!! I've heard it all now. Of course they don't need a bloody iPad. I'd question any school that switched to learning on an iPad and insisting children need them. Internet access and a device to access it is beneficial yes but needing an iPad NO.

ghostspirit · 29/01/2015 21:40

lady that made me smile hehe. my turn :p

2 tablets. 2 play stations. wii. 3 flat screens. thinking about buying tablet for 4 year old cause she wants to play on the others and causes problems... got 2 reasonable mobiles. i used to buy lots of 2nd hand stuff now im replacing everything with new. makes me feel good. and i try and buy something new every week. just because i can. :) :)

frankie001 · 29/01/2015 21:42

Princess, look, you've broken his heart!

aibu to think 16 kids on benefits
LadyLupin · 29/01/2015 21:43

Feel free PricessBride. I've got a child with SN. Such a bonus, means he's exempt from the benefit cap, so quids in with the DLA and extra tax credit. Can you pop another one out? Bedroom entitlement would go up. We could have a council mansion.

I'm leaving to drive too. And my 2 year old has free 15 hours of nursery a week. I just replaced all out mattresses and duvets for snuggly new ones.

Bless you tax payers.

WooltonPie · 29/01/2015 21:44

Can someone please explain this "sitting on their/my/her arse" thing to me.

What else would one sit on? Is sitting occasionally, a moral failing in itself now?

Do people like the OP never, ever sit? Confused
