The poor little sod whose parents gave him the fore- and surnames of the England team that won the World Cup in 1966 has been dragging that ridiculous burden around for 49 years now. Imagine every time he shows his passport . . .

Andrewofgg · 26/01/2015 22:14

And on a previous thread I mentioned Wendy House - her single name.

Victoria Cross was a married name and they did not call their son George.

Sidge · 26/01/2015 22:18

Shirley Shirley

Redhead11 · 26/01/2015 22:20

There was, of course, the eminent Dr Donald Duck, who was born long before Walt Disney borrowed his name and suffered vastly for it.

My mother also cited kids called Heather Bell and Crystal Glass from her teaching career. I know there were others, but those are the ones that i remember.

PigeonPie · 26/01/2015 22:22

I used to work with a woman whose surname was Hoare. She lived with a friend whose name was Trollope. On the entryphone at the door was 'Trollope and Hoare'. We all fell about laughing - she couldn't seen anything wrong!

Also knew a man called Doug Peat.

Andrewofgg · 26/01/2015 22:22
