A thestral is a creature from harry potter I wondered what else my son thought might be real ?
He is, after all the first generation who was exposed to harry potter.

ten years ago I had a brain haemorrhage.. I'd been reading the Potter books just prior and my misfiring brain kept saying spells from them - for example, when a nurse dropped a tray my brain said "scourgify!" which I knew was wrong for this reality but couldn't say anything else properly for ages!

The thriving UK and US university Muggle Quidditch scene is evidence that a lot of teens who've been reading Potter all their life leave the hell that is secondary school PE and decide "Yes, I want to do some sports at uni, but no I'm not going to settle for sodding football/netball. I've wanted to play Quidditch all my life and Quidditch I will bloody well play!"

Snapechat the first book came out in 1997 and I was genuinely reading it when it first came out. I was a very advanced reader. Many of my friends also had the books read to them by parents or on audio tapes

I would have thought a 6 year old could easily read Harry potter, at least the first couple of books
