To not care that my cat craps in neighbours gardens

Salmotrutta · 17/01/2015 21:08

I have cats.

They go outside (as they should).

They probably shit I the neighbours garden but mostly they seem to shit in our garden.

I suspect they kill small furry animals too and I know they do as well as birds

As do lions, tigers, lynxes, snow leopards, blah blah.

I don't approve of "indoor" cats.

I have cats. It's not like you can train them not to go to toilet in other peoples gardens. Neighbours cats also go to toilet in my garden. As do foxes and other animals. If I could train them I probably would confine it to just my area though.

I'm more annoyed by dog walkers who don't pick up after them and seem to let them go to the toilet right outside my gate, or let them poo in children's parks.

LittleBairn · 17/01/2015 21:18

Ah right this isn't actually AIBU this is an attention seeking thread. Hmm

Tinks42 · 17/01/2015 21:18

Your attitude makes me want to go shit in your garden and see how you like it.

But lets be fair here....

As long as you don't mind me spraying your cat. As long as you don't mind me putting shed loads of pepper down. As long as you don't mind me putting broken glass on my walls then OP.

Hatespiders · 17/01/2015 21:18

The trouble is you can't explain to the cats where they should and shouldn't poo.
Ours are shut in at night with a litter tray, and judging by the contents each morning they do most of their business in there. But we can't be sure they're not annoying neighbours. However, most of our neighbours have several cats too, so there must be poo all over the place from them all!

londonrach · 17/01/2015 21:18

Yabvvvvvvvvvvvu. How many cats dont know how to bury and if they do you find the poo when you gardening and putting a plant in. (Patents not our garden as we never been lucky enough to have a garden). We used to live next to a cat whos owner gave us a water pistol the day we moved in saying it wasnt fair on us. Never used it as he had amazing purr, loved hugs (never fed him but give him cuddles when he visited) and never pooed in garden. But loved the fact his owners appreciated his negatives and tried to reduce them. Left the water pistrol on their door step the day we left. (Also gave said cat a huge hug and left him watching us leave)

usualsuspect333 · 17/01/2015 21:19

Shock poor pusscats being chased by nasty dogs.

AwfulBeryl · 17/01/2015 21:19

Grin oh you goady fucker. Grin
How did you manage to train your cats to shit in your neighbors garden ?
our cat refuses to use a litter tray or our neighbors garden, instead she like to use the place where flowers die in our garden. We can see her from the window, she always makes eye contact as she goes with that glarey smug look that only cats can do.

Salmotrutta · 17/01/2015 21:19

You can throw your cat crap over into my garden if you like.

I have plants - it is fertiliser.

But if you can shut your fucking rat on a string dog up who barks day and night that would be just fine and dandy Hmm

I hate cats. I squirt your cats with a water pistol when they come into my garden. If I find a cat anywhere near my rabbits and my water pistol isn't near it gets squirted with the hose.

Cats are vermin in my eyes

LittleBairn · 17/01/2015 21:20

And there is no reason to Poor me none of my neighbours have cats they are all nice responsible Dog owners.

CaptainAnkles · 17/01/2015 21:20

Ohh, I see, it's a 'spoiling for a rumble' thread! I didn't get it Blush

MrsItsNoworNotatAll · 17/01/2015 21:20

My previous neighbour had that attitude. She took umbridge when I took measures to try and prevent her shitty arsed cats crapping all over our newly laid lawn where my daughters played. Well they could after I cleared away all the turds.

We fell out and I was delighted when she moved and took her cats with her.

Bit of a crap, excuse the pun, attitude really. I didn't appreciate clearing up after animals I don't have a responsibility for. If they'd crapped on the soil and covered it up I could've lived with that but it was dirty great dollops of shite all over grass.

Disgusting and it fucking stinks.

AryaUnderfoot · 17/01/2015 21:20

Our neighbour's cat regularly shat on our lawn. It really pissed me off.

Then it left a set of paw prints in our newly poured concrete patio. The groundworker was very pissed off that his beautfully poured concrete was ruined. He told us that the cat would probably never come back across the patio.

It hasn't. Haha.

No more cat shit.

BoredChurch · 17/01/2015 21:20

I love to garden but I hate it when I come across cats shit. It can smell vile and it can be squidgy and disgusting. It's even more digusting if cats crap in kids play sand....

I don't think cats should be kept indoors but I do think cat owners should do what they can to stop them crapping in neighbours gardens.

My mums cat has a dirt box. It may crap outside as well but at least my mum tries.

I think it's unpleasant of you not too care at all if your neighbours have to deal with your cats crap but I presume you posted this thread just to get that reaction...

Timeforabiscuit · 17/01/2015 21:20

OK salmontrutta you're either pissed or bored.

Don't drink and type, you may not remember in the morning but the name change is a ballache in the morning.

Or you're bored and cat shit was the best you had.

mswibble · 17/01/2015 21:21

Its this attitude that nearly drove me to hold a stake out in my garden armed with a Nerf Supersoaker. I am still toying with the idea of getting one of those motion activated sprayer things.
If you aren't bothered by stinking cat shit and you are my neighbour just let me know and i'll happily fling it all back over into your garden for you to enjoy.

GretnaGreen · 17/01/2015 21:21

I have a cat who after years of being outdoor has decided to be indoor. I'm not fussed about poo anyway, though - even where I live (London zone 2) the gardens are overrun with foxes, mice, rats etc, all pooing and weeing as they like. I just don't see the point of being annoyed about cat poo in addition.

HesterShaw · 17/01/2015 21:21

Perhaps there ought to be a new MN section:

"Goady threads by those who crave attention."

lomega · 17/01/2015 21:21

I'm going to probably get flamed but no I don't think cats should be allowed to roam free outdoors. We don't allow any other animal to wander unrestricted into other people's gardens/homes etc, so why do we allow cats to? If you provide enough stimulation, space, and play for cats they can be very happy indoors - and much safer.

It's not the cats crapping in gardens that would concern me the most, it's the fact that neighbours might have dogs/other pets that would harm my cat, thugs might get hold of it and hurt it, could get hit by a car, eat poison etc. Like I say we don't allow dogs to run unchecked, presumably for some of these reasons. I don't trust people I don't know with my animals. Just look at things like that woman a few years back that put a random cat in a wheelie bin for no reason!
They also get in fights with other cats, or could get stolen, or a whole heap of other disasters that could be prevented by keeping them in.

My best friend has 2 indoor cats that have been so from kittenhood. They are very well looked after. People will probably say it is in a cat's natural instinct to roam, but if that's the case you could apply that logic to any pet. It seems it's socially acceptable to only allow it for cats. How would you feel if you looked out of the window and saw a random dog shitting in your garden?

cozietoesie · 17/01/2015 21:21

Since I gave them trays, my outside-going cats have all preferred to use them inside before going back out again.

You're being very thoughtless if you're not giving them that opportunity, OP.

usualsuspect333 · 17/01/2015 21:22

oh I do love a dog v cat thread.

The cats will always win though.

TSSDNCOP · 17/01/2015 21:22

I don't believe this is a real thread. I believe OP has been hijacked.

hiddenhome · 17/01/2015 21:22

Leave the poor kitties alone.

And rabbits belong in pies Grin

OttiliaVonBCup · 17/01/2015 21:23

It's fun watching the cat scramble up a tree and then sit there trembling while I shake the tree so it can fall down again.

Sometimes we use the garden hose to bring them down.

HesterShaw · 17/01/2015 21:23

I don't get it. Salmotrutta isn't usually a twat. Is she? Confused
