to wish that people would keep their fecking filthy dogs to themselves?

Lots of people on the school run (mainly mothers), in my area, take their dogs with them for some unfathomable reason. Most mornings DS3 and I have to dodge the fucking things as the owner has them on a long lead and they block the path with them and allow them to walk up to people.

This morning we had one pig ignorant woman let her dog almost trip DS over by the dog walking at his heels.

Another woman standing on the path talking to someone over the road, dog lead blocking the whole path, lets her dog jump up at my shopping bags, I have to ask her to move her dog.

Then further up, massive dog doing a big stinking shit (FFS who wants to smell that first thing in the morning in the street) dog lead again blocking the whole path, while woman chattering away on her phone, dog then comes to sniff at my bags.

ABU to say to people 'keep your filthy animal to yourself' and kick the next one who invades into my personal space.

If a dog walks past you or sniffs your shopping as it goes past, you'd kick it?
What if the dog then responded by lunging and biting you? Would you instantly be outraged and demand the vicious beast be put to sleep?
Or is the otherwise friendly animal supposed to suppress all instinct to protect itself ?

And where were you let when I had my thread about a man kicking my dog?

I got my arse well and truly whooped.

HappyYoni · 13/01/2015 19:23

I love dogs and am delighted when they come up for a sniff and a cuddle. Am always a bit disappointed if they just ignore me!

If I saw someone kicking a dog for just being near them I would

A) think they are stupid (because if you start a fight with a dog you can't be surprised when it uses it's teeth to fight back)
B) think they were cruel
C) kick them back. Unless the dog was busy laying into them.

I'm much more of a cat person, as you can probably see from the username, but even I am really struggling to imagine how you can get yourself quite so frothed up and in a lather over this OP. Confused

How about we spread some tolerance, peace and love people? Jeez!

Well aren't you a delight OP.
If anyone attempted to kick my dog, they'd damn well be feeling the toe of my boot up their backside.

SoleSource · 13/01/2015 19:36

I have watched two dog owners walk away from their dogs poop in the last Fe weeks. Both times I was in a traffic jam and watching. The owner was staring straight at me with an aggressive stare. Both on grass verges at the side of the road. Not seen dog mess on the pavement for years. All credit to the majority of responsible dog owners.

It backfired on a dog owner recently when his 2 off-lead labs who were "just being friendly" ran way ahead of him straight at my sister and DNiece on their horses. One of the dogs bit DN's horse's leg, which then bucked and threw her off. Fortunately she was OK, just very shaken, as was her horse.

The man, on the other hand, would not have it when my DSis gave him a piece of her mind and told him to get his dogs on the lead if he couldn't control them. His response? To shout at her, telling her they were just being friendly, they wouldn't hurt anyone, he walks them there twice a day and effectively she should stop complaining.

He was even less happy when DSis told him that actually, he had bitten the horse on the leg and had been kicked as a result. Serves him right.

I'm getting sick and tired of "friendly" dogs whose owners are not able to control them or show any consideration for anyone else in the vicinity. I know not everyone is like that, but if every walk you go on in the local park or wood has one or 2 dog owners like this it starts to piss you right off.

Well actually I hate all the bloody self rightous runners who try and push past me on the school run. Hate the hot sweater feckers heavy breathing right behind me too.

Much rather have a dog, jumpy or not pleased to see me if I'm honest.

revealall · 13/01/2015 20:10

Sir - just a thought but if your friend can't control her horse perhaps she shouldn't be out either.

zeezeek · 13/01/2015 20:11

I'm pretty damn sure that my dogs are more civilised, loveable and better behaved than some of the people on this thread and God help their kids

SirChenjin · 13/01/2015 20:17

Explain to me why you think her horse was out of control reveal

SirChenjin · 13/01/2015 20:18

And yes, Bath - they do have the same right to be there. What they don't have 'the right' to do is have out of control dogs that they can't recall.

MidniteScribbler · 13/01/2015 20:20

I think I'm going to turn off the computer and take my dogs to the beach (all SIX of them!). Much better company than most humans seem to be.

usualsuspect333 · 13/01/2015 20:32

My dogs feet used to smell like popcorn. I used to love sniffing them.

HairyOrk · 13/01/2015 20:35

I have a similar issue with hideous humans being around my dog.
