AIBU?

to suggest that if we start to hate eachother, the terrorists have won?

Having glanced at some of the threads on here since the Paris attack, I can't help feeling we are eating into their hands. Their actions, while tragic in their consequence only become far reaching if they increase suspicion and hatred between Muslims and non-Muslims. I'm amazed by the suggestion that many Muslims support these attacks. Dh and I are Muslim and we have never met a single person, here or abroad, who has agreed with the terrorist attacks of the last few years. If I did meet someone like this I would tell the police.
Could I ask everyone to remember that most humans want to live in peace and know that they and their children are safe and want the same for others too? Thank you.

This is an open forum not a club for girls who all agree with each other and all think the same on every subject.

This is precisely why mumsnet gets ridiculed for being left wing north London guardian readers.

Lol the body that's hilarious. Grin If you're not a Guardian reader here on MN you are very naughty indeed.

Machair since you asked if the incident of the elderly woman ordered to be killed by the prophet was in the Quran, it isn't but it's in the Hadith. Umm Qirfa's tribe, which she led, tried many times to kill the prophet. In one incident they attacked a muslim convey on its way to Syria and killed some of the Muslims. The ones that survived made it back to tell the prophet who then dispatched a force who did indeed kill her and those who fought with her.

So she wasn't a little old woman who sat around minding her own business, she and her tribe which she led were trying to kill the prophet and he made a pre-emptive/retaliative strike if you like. It took place in a war situation and didn't just randomly happen. Yes the manner in which she was killed was gruesome but this was 1400 years ago where such methods of execution were probably the norm. Much like being hung, strung and quartered here 600 years ago.

Are you at it again SlaggyIsland Your link about mosques being firebombed. doesn't go to news about mosques being firebombed.

three blank grenades were thrown at a mosque they are used for gaming so not dangerous apparently. A bullet hole was also found in a window of the mosque. which IS dangerous but not firebombing. Oh and the mosque was empty.

Several shots were fired in the direction of a Muslim prayer hall shortly after evening prayers. The hall was empty and it doesn't say if any of them actually hit it.

There was an explosion at a kebab shop which happened to be near a mosque.

Oh for heaven's sake Back don't be so pedantic. I simply said that mosques had also been targetted, to evidence that the tensions were going both ways. Which theye have.
