OP posts:
wigglesrock · 08/01/2015 20:27

My house is clean, eat your dinner off the toilet seat clean, my car is a tip both inside and out - always has been. I very rarely clean the outside of it in Winter, mucky roads, lots of rain. My windscreen and lights are clear and safe. My neighbour is always cleaning his car, he's an odious little man.

Mia1415 · 08/01/2015 20:34

My car is absolutely disgusting. But my house isn't!

IAmNotDarling · 08/01/2015 20:41

Nope. My car is gross but my house is sparkling. Too busy spending my time cleaning it I suppose. I work FT and have to prioritise. Also lots of mud and leaves outside our house so dirty very quickly.

Judge me. I don't care!

MyCarHasBrokenDownAgain · 08/01/2015 20:42

I'll go against the grain here: car pretty good (as it's MINE and I don't share well), house complete shit tip; seeing as no one else living here gives a fuck or attempts to tidy, I don't see why I should either!

DilysMoon · 08/01/2015 20:46

Clean tidy house, tidy car apart from the mud/grass on the floor from ds's. Outside of car rarely cleaned.

maninawomansworld · 08/01/2015 21:55

No, dirty car does not equal dirty home.
My house is beautiful, I have cleaners twice a week!
My cars on the other hand...... I live on a farm, in winter it's just mud mud mud - with a little bit of animal shit thrown in for good measure. Plus it's shooting season so the back of the Land Rover is also full of feathers, fur and dried blood.
No point cleaning cars until march at least, it would take all of a week for them to be filthy again.

BallsforEarrings · 08/01/2015 21:59

Car is filthy most times but house is immaculate! Not sure why?

mummytowillow · 08/01/2015 22:00

My house is spotless but my car is rotten! In fact I might take it to car wash this weekend it's that bad Wink

102030 · 08/01/2015 22:09

My house is spotless and quite tidy but my car is really dirty on the outside and quite messy on the inside. Blush

My house and car don't match. Confused

GlitteryLipgloss · 08/01/2015 22:13

My home is like a show home. But my car.... It's a little muddy on the outside and got a coat, shoes, and my spare make up in there. And scuff marks. I hate those buggers.

102030 · 08/01/2015 22:13

.

FitzgeraldProtagonist · 08/01/2015 22:15

Car filthy cess pit. House super clean tranquil haven. The car is my outlet for mess hate dragging the rubbish inside to the bin

WoodliceCollection · 08/01/2015 22:24

I can only speak for myself, but yes, in my case this would be an empirically correct extrapolation. HTH.

nousernamesleft · 09/01/2015 00:13

House is acceptable (if you don't look at the kitchen floor which is sticky and muddy), car is spotless.
Dd1 earns up to £5 for cleaning out the inside of the car, depending on how much crap needs removing, and she wanted money to go into town on Monday, and my lovely neighbour washed the outside yesterday after a tractor splattered shit all over the outside of mine and both of his. Mind you, mine was that disgusting you probably wouldn't have noticed the tractor shit.
We live rurally though, and my car is normally tractor shit coloured, it's generally pointless washing it.

Karasea · 09/01/2015 00:23

My car is awful, once found a bright green prawn sand which under my seat! You have to stuff wrappers back in if you open the door on a windy day. It has so much dirt it once formed compost. I have never ever cleaned the outside of it.
My house is neat and smells good. I have no explanation for the contrast.

forago · 09/01/2015 00:24

Not necessarily I don't think. Mynhouse is always pretty clean and tidy it the car rarely is.

lurkernowposter · 09/01/2015 00:24

I suspect the OP doesn't drive much, I drive a lot, I work long hours, it's dark when I leave home for work and dark when I return home. My car hasn't been washed in months and is filthy inside and out but I don't fancy cleaning it in the dark. My house, thanks to a cleaner is spotless.

RedSoloCup · 09/01/2015 00:30

My house it clean and tidy, my car is tidy but probably slighty dirty (washed last week).

I do judge people with messy rubbish filled cars, just why?? We park ours next to the bin and it takes seconds to empty it!

Ouchbloodyouch · 09/01/2015 00:39

Did op ever come back? I thought maybe judging by the title it was intended to start a bunfight! It clearly didn't Wink

Plomino · 09/01/2015 01:41

House is pretty good , respectable at least . Washed car yesterday, removed the tide mark of filth . Drove the 100 miles to work and it looked as bad as it did before . Plus living where we do with dogs and horses means the dirt is inevitable, and we fit in with everyone else round these parts Grin

Bogeyface · 09/01/2015 01:45

I think the OP is fishing for an article.

stolemyusername · 09/01/2015 01:59

My car is clean but a little untidy (a pair of heels, pens and paperwork) but not dirty as I don't let anyone eat in it!

My house is also clean and reasonably tidy apart from the trail of things the DC and DH leave as they move round Smile

Keyhawk · 09/01/2015 21:59

My house is clean and I keep it tidy considering we both work FT and I study. Car isn't spotless on the outside but inside it might get a bit dusty and I manage to collect hats/scarves in there lol. could imagine that if we had a dog it would be worse inside but that's part of the reason I don't want one because I HATE dog hair on my clothes!!!!

magicpixie · 09/01/2015 22:02

lol at fishing for an article, I wish I was that smart!

reason for asking is our house is pretty clean but the car is filthy

OP posts:
DramaAlpaca · 09/01/2015 22:08

My house is clean, but my car is often filthy on the outside as we live rurally. It's not exactly clean on the inside either.

Having a dirty car is not something that bothers me, but I do like the house to be clean.

I once gave a lift to a couple of girls from my DS's class. He reported back the next day that they'd said to him: 'Doesn't your mum ever clean her car?' Blush
