(Same person whk set up the Sheffield Weds one so of you sogned that one it is pretty easy to locate).Already has over 9000 signatures so please please please continue to sign and share!

I can't bear Loose Women. It's like calculated ignorance on Tramadol.

There are already posters on here boycotting his FIL's business because of the actions of the FIL.

Willferrellisactuallykindahot · 05/01/2015 12:59

Well the Loose Women rather missed the point there did they?

Also NOT A SINGLE MENTION ABOUT HIS VICTIM.

Twenty, he was convicted on the basis of what he himself said he did.

It might be noted that the public wouldn't be discussing his future job prospects if CE was a bricklayer and not a sportsman in the public eye.

Yes quite. If he was a bricklayer employed by a company, and his employer said 'sorry mate, your criminal record means we no longer want you working with us' (which can and does happen all the time), no one would give a fuck.

No, twenty. He does not believe he is guilty and he was there. And the victim has no memory of the events. The judge's summary made it clear he believed CE's guilt was down to the victim not having the capacity to consent.

He is guilty, his current legal status is guilty, and that is the basis on which he will be treated.

A bricklayer would not have the twitter clout to have had his victim's identity outed 5 times.

AuntieStella · 05/01/2015 13:04

"the petition is successful do you really think the media wont report where he ends up working? Who gets the final "say" in where he is "allowed "to have employment?"

The potential employer, just like the rest of us. It's more high profile with performers, but it's essentially exactly the same as all those who have disappeared from screen and stage following convictions.

No-one will mind one jot his securing employment which is not high profile, role model to children and for which a serious conviction is incompatible. So no problems whatsoever with media reports on where he eventually works.

Greywackejones · 05/01/2015 13:04

Does anyone know what fils job entails? Just wondering. I thought I read decorating but am unsure....

Just extrapolating further he (assuming it this role) will work either redecorating estsblishments like offices? Or homes? How populated are these places. It's great being shocked and forcing him off the pitch but where/what is he going to do? He's about 30, hes got to do something. (Write a book...?) and this makes me wonder about others like decorators one allows in your house. Does anyone know how / if you can check things like that..?

Thanks

noddyholder · 05/01/2015 13:05

His biggest mistake was taking part in the destruction of the victim's everyday life That imo is unforgivable

treaclesoda · 05/01/2015 13:05

AWholeLottaNosy those online comments that you quoted are really chilling. I find it quite frightening that there is some sort of assumption amongst some people that all women would automatically be pleased to have sex with a footballer. Do people actually think that being a professional footballer entitles a man to have sex with whoever he wants, whenever he wants?

This whole case makes me feel sick.

YonicSleighdriver · 05/01/2015 13:08

Grey, some larger forms will state they DBS check their employees. Otherwise, no, as you can only check for employees.

CE considered his golden boy footballer status got him the right to put his penis into drunken women. He is probably less of a risk as a decorator than a footballer.

Greywackejones · 05/01/2015 13:08

Twenty I don't remember linear accused of rape..? Not doing much for youth sport isn't quite the same as raping members of the general public you do encounter in promotions/clubs/life.

He did, linekar, do rather a lot for charity.

CantBeBotheredThinking · 05/01/2015 13:10

Fil is in the jewelry trade with a chain of shops so not decorating no. The decorating gets mentioned because while in prison ce did obtained a city and guilds in painting and decorating.

YonicSleighdriver · 05/01/2015 13:11

It's a jewellery business.

Off-pitch and throughout the duration of his first marriage Lineker also shagged anything in a skirt. Allegedly.

What I'm pointing out Grey is that the whole role model claim is a bit of a red herring imo. There's undeniably a huge amount of hero-worship in football but the level to which role modelling takes part is personal, it's individual and highly subjective.

YetAnotherHelenMumsnet · 05/01/2015 13:15

Hi all,
Could we politely ask that no one identify the victim of the rape in question using initials or any other info that has leaked into the public domain?
