It seems we are not allowed to speak about anything negative elsewhere. Please do not speak badly of Tricky Dicky and co.

Take a look at the latest post on the Facebook page.

They have screenshot a private message from someone saying they are reporting them and put it on their FB page.

UnMasterChef · 03/01/2015 21:58

FB group is now closed, have just sent a request not sure how you will know it is me…..

LongDistanceLove · 03/01/2015 21:58

That's just awful, who are the trolls again?

IAmOnMyBike · 03/01/2015 21:59

pm me I will ask admin to let you join.

Exactly LongDistanceLove

That was a private message. I've reported the picture and advised the lady in question to do the same.

RustyParker · 03/01/2015 22:00

Bad show to pull the threads MNHQ

Delete personal attacks by all means. All 5 of them on a 1000 post thread.

If Tricky had posted directly on MN it either would have been pulled or the MN disclaimer about not giving more than you can afford etc. would have been posted. This couple do not need money from low income people / families or lone parents and they are the very people being targetted by this campaign.

pluCaChange · 03/01/2015 22:02

I can understand shutting down discussions which are in contempt of court, but as it didn't appear there were any legal proceedings in the works, whereas there were many questions about the ethics of the appeals for money, the thread seemed extremely public spirited!

aermingers · 03/01/2015 22:05

TD has put up a PM from a woman who has said that she's reporting him to the Fundraising Commission and their supporters are abusing her on the group.

AndreaDislikesScammers · 03/01/2015 22:09

aermingers

He's posted it twice. I've reported both.

If anyone has a Facebook account and isn't blocked from that page, please report by clicking on the pictures from the photo album. Your report is kept confidential.

FreeWee · 03/01/2015 22:10

The outpouring from wellwishers in recent months on a variety of fundraising efforts has been incredible. It's clear that there is something very different going on in this case. It worries me that people will be cynical in future campaigns which are more clear cut. It's a sad story & I don't blame them at all for travelling at 29 weeks. The fundraising should have waited till it was understood exactly what the money would help with.

mrscumberbatch · 03/01/2015 22:12

Fwiw, I've seen employers give parents an advance of a couple of grand when babies have arrived early as they understand that they may not have had a chance to get all the essentials.
You have to pay it back, but its a nice gesture and well appreciated.

This boss clearly does not have deep pockets

fluffymouse · 03/01/2015 22:14

I've seen the message now.. I couldn't see it a few minutes ago when I checked. But surely this is a criminal matter too?

One of the big differences here is that the money isn't going to an established charity. When you look at the amazing response to the Steven Sutton campaign, it probably helped that it wasn't for him, but for an established charity that had helped him and he wanted to support, so nothing about if felt wrong (if you know what I mean), while it was clearly someone in difficult circumstances and needed lots of support

ModernToss · 03/01/2015 22:17

Hugely disappointing decision to pull the other threads, MNHQ, particularly in light of the massive censorship going on on the FB page. Hugely disappointing.

squoosh · 03/01/2015 22:20

I've just spent half an hour reading through the first thread in shock and disbelief. The whole thing is like a Victorian penny dreadful for the internet age.

Eagerly looked for the second installment only to find it's been zapped. Tricky Dicky's money grabbing ways seen worthy of protecting by MN? Harumph.

What can we put as the reason for reporting the screen grab of her message?

fluffymouse · 03/01/2015 22:22

unmasterchef Steven Sutton was clearly a very inspirational young man, who raised money for a charity like you say rather than himself. I admire what he did.

This leach is still asking for money into a private account, even though costs have already been met according to his admission.

AcrossthePond55 · 03/01/2015 22:23

Exactly UnMaster. If TD had established a FB saying that because RMcD House was helping out the dad by providing a place to stay, he wanted to raise funds for a donation to them, there wouldn't be a problem. It's the 'shell game' of why funds were being raised (medical, not medical. living expenses, not living expenses. etc). It's the lack of accountability that is so wrong.

MegMogandOwlToo · 03/01/2015 22:25

How odd... Wonder why they are removing all threads relating to this.

forago · 03/01/2015 22:25

have joined, Disappointed in MN - have been "got at" now that hes finally getting real PR involved, no doubt. Still think this whole thing stinks.

FreeWee · 03/01/2015 22:25

Seems like there's two similar named pages. This is the one with bigger membership m.facebook.com/groups/552197588216132?view=group

Bluestocking · 03/01/2015 22:28

Very good, squoosh, it is just like a penny dreadful for an apocalyptic era where people live on a diet of TOWIE, junk food and protein shakes.

AndreaDislikesScammers · 03/01/2015 22:29

OwlBeGoing

I've reported it under:

I think it shouldn't be on Facebook
This is annoying or inappropriate

Facebook rarely removed photos but if enough people report it then they might do something. Probably not but it's worth a try.
