I work for a company that sublets to various businesses on a fairly large site,

Today one of our directors, who is reasonably wealthy, pulled a gag on the lady that runs the onsite cafe that involved a 25k fake scratch card.

She isn't wealthy, and spent 20 mind or so phoning her family and friends offering to treat them before my pathetic boss laughed at her for falling for the joke.

Aibu is this a particularly cuntish thing to just before Christmas?

Poor woman cried she was so disappointed/embarrassed. Angry

Please, please do Sue's idea and put a link on here. I'd give something too.

oswellkettleblack · 21/12/2014 12:01

I would tell your boss about this and leave it at that. He should be disciplined or his contract not renewed. I would not want to patronise such a person with business.

Chocolateteacake · 21/12/2014 12:06

Who is his boss? I find the Big Bosses are usually nicer than those Smaller Bosses and wouldn't be amused. I wonder if his boss would consider issuong a hilarious fake P45 on Christmas eve?

Sazzle41 · 21/12/2014 13:58

Thats cruel and twisted. He has no empathy or thought for those with less. Sociopath. I hope someone says that to him along with: so if you are skint being told you have won some money then that you havent is hystericial is it? Tosser.

Does he have issues with women ? Or is he like that to everyone. That would make me think long and hard about working with or for him. If that woman has a husband or male relative who decides to take issue/revenge re his 'prank' i would actually point him out for them.

CheckpointCharlie · 21/12/2014 14:19

Bastard. I would also donate.

SoleSource · 21/12/2014 14:23

Vile trick to play. Strange person.

SamiBE · 21/12/2014 14:25

That's so nasty! I hope karma fucks him deep in his arse! Angry

Katinkka · 21/12/2014 14:53

I would also donate. Poor woman.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 21/12/2014 15:02

Will you report it?

CatWreathkeith · 21/12/2014 15:58

I will report it yes.

Stupid arse.

OP posts:
sharon56bus · 21/12/2014 16:07

That is Nasty...........

Greyhound · 21/12/2014 16:10

That is quite sickeningly horrible.

Dickhead.

LaurieFairyCake · 21/12/2014 16:23

Out him, we"ll all spend the next year taking up his time faking interest in buying cars from him

We should have a saying like "25,000"
we say as we walk away from the 'buy'

He will never know its coming and if we can get 25000 to do it, even better

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 21/12/2014 16:41

I think SpiritoftheTime has it exactly right, play it straight. Go to your nice boss and let him deal with his idiot employee. Just give him the information to do that, ALL of it, including how this poor woman felt/feels. Angry

Bore off Mick

tobysmum77 · 21/12/2014 16:59

he's a twat. although I do know someone who for a laugh sat her dh down to watch the recorded national lottery live with a ticket for next week in his hand .......

Maybe he should cough up the money.

Mickloving1981 · 21/12/2014 17:05

This prank has been going on for years! Get with the times people. I think it's hilarious. remember not everyone has the same boring sense of humour that a lot of people on here have :)

LaurieFairyCake · 21/12/2014 17:10

I have a reasonably sophisticated sense of humour that doesn't include making the working poor cry.

Only a cunt of the lowest order would find that funny. Is that really you?

DoingTheBestICan · 21/12/2014 17:11

I know a lady who rung her dh up from work and told him they had won the lottery, he ran in the street whooping and cheering, he told all the neighbours he hated them and that they would be leaving their soon to buy a huge house in the country.

He was devastated when he found out it was untrue, in fact they split up and got divorced not long after.

So these kind of tricks are horrible and can have dire consequences.

Hatespiders · 21/12/2014 17:12

Well said Laurie.

KillmeNow · 21/12/2014 17:13

Report the sadistic bastard and then set up a Give a Quid fund for the lady.

It would only take 25,000 people to have a heart and pay a tiny amount just to help her get back at him in the nicest possible way. I think there are many time that number in Mumsnet alone so surely it can be done.

Keep your own nose clean though OP . Its not worth being dragged down by this nasty man if he suspects you have had a hand in his (hopefully) rapid downfall.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 21/12/2014 17:14

I am 50, and for 49 years of my life "banter" has meant, "witty repartee between two mutually consenting people". Suddenly, in the last 12 months or so it's meaning seems to have changed to, "unilaterally acting like a twat". Strange times.

Boomtownsurprise · 21/12/2014 17:15

Who employs cafe runner woman? Is the cafe part of the firm or outside concern?

To me that's bullying and harassment.

I'd (dream of) kill the nasty fucker. Banter is bullying. End of.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 21/12/2014 17:16

Mick... Are people generally awestruck by the intellect and humour in your posts then? Haven't seen it myself but, could be a failing of my humour. I'd hate to be the lone person laughing at your 'humour' because I'd really need to do some work on myself, probably with a full team behind me too.
