Re: hotel complaint. I was mid-post and it went poof! Am I looking in the wrong section?

OP posts:
TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 16/12/2014 22:43

Yep,that was me Grin Yeah, that was a bit obvious wasn't it...'I will give a link and name and shame but now is not the time' hmmm lol

Icimoi · 16/12/2014 22:48

I was quite Confused about the fact that she claimed to be still in floods of tears hours later. I mean, if the thing were true I could see that the initial stress might cause you to cry, but surely by the time you're up to posting on MN you're past that stage? To say nothing of the major feat of being able to post repeatedly whilst sobbing her heart out and having a migraine.

stillwearingaredribbon · 16/12/2014 22:54

I missed the eBay present one, can anyone please tell me what it was about?

WoodenGo · 16/12/2014 22:57

I sorta feel sorry for those people who have nothing better to do than make up bizarre 'problems' on a chatboard. They must be in desperate need of attention for some reason.

(I also think if it wasn't for them the aye-boo and relationships boards would be half the size they are).

stillwearingaredribbon · 16/12/2014 23:03

Do you remember the poster who was staying with in-laws who wouldn't let them eat, have any heating on, shower or use the internet
They had no money to leave
That must have been bollocks surely?

stillwearingaredribbon · 16/12/2014 23:05

I think liftzilla started out as true
Probably sorted out quickly and boringly

WildFlowersAttractBees · 16/12/2014 23:07

I am never normally near the obviously nonsense threads but I have been on four that have gone in the past fortnight. I clearly need more rest and less christmas mayhem to notice!

I felt sorry for lift lady and hought ebay BIL was in financial strife! I did however realise child support wife wasn't right and that hotel lady seemed nutty at best!

Harverinalovesxmassandwiches · 16/12/2014 23:12

Liftzilla was made up??!! Shock WTF.

I had no idea Hmm

Jill2015 · 16/12/2014 23:22

The hotel one was VERY detailed, that made me wonder a bit. I think the only bit left out was the colour of the bed linen...

The eBay one was too OTT for me. Plus the OP seemed to disappear, for quite some time, maybe waiting to have sufficient attention whipped up.

Liftzilla went too far, I think it started out as possibly a true-ish story but went a bit off the wall. I was contributing to the first thread but as it became more outlandish, I asked some questions of the OP. She didn't answer.

TinkerbellaPan · 16/12/2014 23:24

Ohh! I am so gullible!! I was up late last night and was so sympathetic to her! Tbh I read her posts as if she was a very nervous person, who was really struggling, and felt bad that she was sobbing by herself and over-thinking the situation.

I also believed the liftzilla one and the ebay BIL one too Grin

Far too gullible! Blush

WoodenGo · 16/12/2014 23:33

It's the overegging that usually does it. Loads and loads of irrelevant details and multiple issues, it is rarely one thing!

Idiotdh · 16/12/2014 23:34

Well, I thought the story was a but daft with it hot in the room but too cold outside...and raining as well..mm and her wanting the guy to sort out her laptop..yeah right

But then I couldn't sleep and actually googled trip advisor Swansea city centre after someone mentioned it and it did have several horror reviews of people being attacked by the Bouncers etc so wasn't sure!

WhatchaMaCalllit · 17/12/2014 08:32

I can't believe that these stories were made up...how gullible am I???

I really wanted to see how ebay lady got on calling her BIL & SIL on their behaviour....Also didn't think that Liftzilla was completely made up as there was a lot of plausability to the story...except where the OP was being told lots of information that should have been confidential...As for "no room at the inn" lady....I really didn't think that was real...honest Xmas Smile

Sprink · 17/12/2014 09:54

WoodenGo yes to the over egging and multiple issues.

I often find myself playing What's the Next Excuse? when reading, eg:

Leave that place/office/party now, OP.
I can't drive and am too poverty-stricken to have a car anyway.

Can you just walk away?
No, I'm in a remote, rural area. Plus I have a Vague Disability.

Can you call a taxi?
No! I'm skint! Why do I have to keep explaining myself? I just want some support!

Call a friend to come get you, OP!
I have no friends, I never have, especially after I had to go into hiding (I posted about this in another thread but it was deleted for some reason).

Call the police.
No, my exBF/Dsis/neighbour is police and I can't trust them/stand the embarrassment!

OP, PM me, I'm nearby and will come collect you.
Erm...no, it's all okay now.

jeee · 17/12/2014 10:00

I thought that the hotel poster was Liz Jones - it read exactly like her whinge-fest diary.

Not that I read the Mail online, or anything.

Icimoi · 17/12/2014 10:09

So has the lady whose lovely husband didn't change his underpants also disappeared? I did wonder when she started off by claiming never to have posted before, but a quick check revealed another thread about pooey nappies.

siobahnagain · 17/12/2014 10:11

hmm looks like the smelly husband with ''shitty underpants'' and shower-phobia thread has gone the same way, too this morning

Allisgood1 · 17/12/2014 10:12

LOL sprink. That's exactly how those threads go. I need to stop being so gullible as well, clearly!

OP posts:
Jill2015 · 17/12/2014 10:58

I kinda wish I had the imagination to come up with something. Well, not really. The smelly husband, I just ignored that thread after reading the OP.

Of late though, I read almost every second thread like this Hmm
I wonder if some people are trying out their short story plots to see how they get on.

TiggerLillies · 17/12/2014 14:12

A little part of me still wishes that liftzilla were true.

I can't imagine 90% of the posts being applicable to people I know now. However I can imagine 100% being true to the drama Queens I use to know many years ago!
Clearly my life is far to boring now, I need to reassess!

SassyCandyCane · 17/12/2014 14:15

I remember one about a bride who found out the DH had been cheating on her wedding night, and she was sat in the hotel suite alone, was that real? I always wonder what happened.

skylark2 · 17/12/2014 14:17

I tend to get suspicious after the second or third poster makes a helpful solution and there's yet another instant response as to why they can't possibly try it - often completely contradicting earlier things they've said.

Jill2015 · 18/12/2014 00:23

Another busy thread, started earlier this evening, seems to have disappeared too.

Oh yes, I LOVE those. Hmm

It never ceases to amaze me how many people on Mumsnet say they 'have no-one' whatsoever in their RL. Confused

Which one was Liftzilla? Was it the woman who really disliked having to lift share with her obnoxious female colleague who smoked in the car and played loud music? I don't remember that going pear shaped.

HelloitsmeFell · 18/12/2014 06:13

bold fail Blush
