Should be able to manage to stand in the right place on cue. Every chuffing week she comes dashing onto the Strictly set after a couple has danced as if it's a surprise that she's required to speak on national tv!!!!!! I dread to think what's she's paid to be so dire.

Yes! I can't believe I never noticed the Marti Caine similarity Grin

It's the way she says couple that gets me shouting at the telly. I can't even spell how she says it. Cubple? I think it can only be spelt in Welsh, something like cwpbl.

sleepychunky · 01/12/2014 12:21

I can't stand her and I've met her in person. Horribly fake and arrogant.

Sparklingbrook · 01/12/2014 12:23

Don't forget 'joodges'.

Quenelle · 01/12/2014 12:27

I like Tess, Claudia and Zoe. They all do a great job. I love the fact that a primetime Saturday night BBC show is hosted entirely by women. I liked Brucie but I don't miss him at all on Strictly. I think they have filled his shoes admirably.

It almost makes me forgive the BBC for replacing Arlene Phillips with a younger model.

It's her fake laughter that irritates me. She's like a robot who's trying to pass themselves off as a human. I know she doesn't actually find anything funny.

UngratefulMoo · 01/12/2014 14:09

Oh yars, ay wish we could awl go back to the days when only the Queen's Inglish was heard on the BBC. Drat these pesky types from the regions with their non-standard accents! Hmm

MissM · 01/12/2014 14:13

Tess seems like a nice person but I can't bear what she wears each week. Nothing seems to ever suit her - she needs a new stylist.

Nancy66 · 01/12/2014 14:16

she can't do off the cuff.

However I don't think I would work to have two like Claudia. it's a live show so you do need someone who can be sensible, stick to the script and the timings. She is good at that. If you remember, during Bruce's 'reign' they very often had to skip some of the judges towards the end as he used to ramble on so much.

Bringing a live show in on time is very hard

Boomtownsurprise · 01/12/2014 14:18

Tess definitely needs a new stylist. Someone keeps pinching bits of material from weird places in her dresses.

That said she comes over quite pleasantly. I think she's hated for being tall blonde slim and pretty. She's therefore supposed to be thick. But as plainly she isn't thick people don't know how to box her, so dislike her instead.

squoosh · 01/12/2014 14:18

She's married to Vernon Kay, she deserves our sympathy for that if nothing else!

ShatnersBassoon · 01/12/2014 14:19

Drat these pesky types from the regions with their non-standard accents!

Most TV presenters have a regional accent. I think the gripes about her pronunciation are unique to her, not about everyone on telly who's originally from somewhere other than London. She has an unusual accent. It's how my southern in-laws speak when they mimic me and my family of northern monkeys.

meglet · 01/12/2014 14:24

I like her. She's inoffensive (in a good way) and isn't Bruce. I used to mute Bruce.

ShatnersBassoon · 01/12/2014 14:26

Yes, that's true. She isn't Bruce, credit where it's due.

Lottapianos · 01/12/2014 14:27

She is really stunning - always looks amazing, even in the extremely dodgy dresses she sometimes wears. I don't like her as a presenter though - she comes across as having zero sense of humour though and seems full of fake sincerity. And the Brucie lines - 'they're on their feet', '....my darling' - are awful.

But enough about her Northern accent though - that's hardly offensive! I'm not a Northerner either

ShesARumUn · 01/12/2014 15:08

I really feel for her having to read all the 'replace her with Claudia/Zoe/Graham/Anton' comments every week. Presenting the biggest live show on British TV every week must be very hard work indeed, and I think she does a really good job.

I love Claudia, but think she works best as the 'support' - a certain amount of pressure is off and there is room to be a bit more relaxed and allow her natural funniness (is that a word?) shine through.

BeCool · 01/12/2014 15:11

I think she may be out of a job next year.
Bring on the Zoe/Claudia combo.

Timetoask · 01/12/2014 15:16

I think Tess is doing a fab job. Sooo much better than Brucee. Prefer her to Zoe.
You people are far too demanding.

RonaldMcDonald · 01/12/2014 15:21

Tess is atrocious. She makes me wonder if she is only employed due to her looks
She has no discernible talent presenting afai can see
Empathy bypass
Least comfortable or professional presenter I have ever watched

She makes me uncomfortable watching her

Sparklingbrook · 01/12/2014 15:25

I don't feel Tess is the sort of person I could go out for a drink at the pub with. Zoe and Claudia on the other hand......

PercyGherkin · 01/12/2014 15:45

I think Tess is ok although I hate a lot of her clothes (but then, she'd probably hate mine). The thought of replacing her with Anton as mentioned above however - UGH. He's HORRIBLE!

ShesARumUn · 01/12/2014 16:08

If they replaced her with Anton I would stop watching.

RonaldMcDonald · 01/12/2014 16:24

Anton is, at best, a gurning Grys Rhys Jones

I'd rather repeated clone Tess than have Anton front the show

drbonnieblossman · 01/12/2014 17:17

No, cockneys would say "couples". It's the same language throughout England I believe. and the opposite of Northerners isn't Cockneys by the way
