My husband goes away to sea, and is currently on an oil rig. While he has been away, there may have been a couple of occasions when she has been invited onto the bed in the morning. If questioned, I will neither confirm nor deny this. Anyway, she followed me up with my cuppa this morning and stood beside the bed wagging and smiling etc and I told her no, get on her own bed. Have just come down to find her in my spot on the couch looking at me in what I can only describe as a challenging way!

Okay, okay. Plainly, I am mean and this hound very reasonable. In fact, she's on the bed with me now. Really shouldn't as it will come to a screeching halt when my husband comes home! It's just...she looks at me and wags her tail and stuff and weeeellllll...I'm sure dogs are taught human mind control at their mother's paws, I really am.

Dogs are never unreasonable, says crumbledog who has his own bloody seat on the sofa. I swore I'd never let any dog of mine on the furniture and then a chubby, fluffy teddy bear 8 week old puppy moved in and nothing was ever the same again!

FoxgloveFairy · 27/11/2014 21:28

Foxdog agrees with crumbledog! No surprises there!

DorisIsALittleBitPartial · 27/11/2014 22:54

Our dog can't get up on the bed by himself because he's too small except when we're out then he manages with no problems
The sofa on the other hand...

Our ddog loves it when DH is on nights, he sleeps all night with me, gets up for a wee and a spot of breakfast and goes back to bed with DH until it's time for walkies.

It's a hard life.

sunflower49 · 28/11/2014 02:41

It's so great to see so many dog lovers on here :)

Lovely pictures everyone!

area52 · 29/11/2014 06:35

weirdly, my ddog (is this now a 'thing'? Grin) really likes her own bed/beanbag. here she is, recuperating after an operation to remove the dreaded big c. she is wearing a pink onesie to stop her licking her stitches (as she refused to walk or eat wearing the cone of shame an not just because i wanted to dress her in pink polkadots

I think i need to kick DH out so DDog can sleep in my bed, DH won't let him on the furniture and he looks so sad on the floor.

Bifflepants · 29/11/2014 06:58

We are VERY strict with Biffledog.

Staywithme · 29/11/2014 08:14

How can anyone not love dogs? These pics are wonderful and I keep feeling the urge to let out a little squeal of excitement every time I see a new photo. BlushGrin

All your dogs are gorgeous. Now wondering how many is too many? Grin
For those commenting on the number of dogs on my DH. Only the two Yorkists are mine, the rest are daycare. We're slightly nuts about dogs.

HelloitsmeFell · 29/11/2014 08:28

My DH has never let our dogs on the sofas or upstairs. I know it makes sense for all sorts of reasons but when I see photos of people cuddled up with their dogs on the sofa I feel envious. Envy

My girl dog knows she's not supposed to go ont he sofa but I know she does (on the less posh sofa in the family room) because I sometimes catch her when I come down in the morning.

One of these days I am going to grab a quilt and go down and snuggle up with her in secret, and then creep back to bed before DH wakes up. Grin

Stuff the doing it in secret. I think it's time your husband was banished to the garden. Grin It's your house to so if you want to cuddle your dog on the sofa, go fir it. If your DH complains, tell him to sit on the floor.

The sofa cushion tried to fight back, and eat her. She didn't notice.

lemisscared · 29/11/2014 09:53

A lot of dog bites happen when the dog commandeers the bed! so my dogs aren't allowed in our bed and grumble at us if we dare move, oh no no no
