My husband goes away to sea, and is currently on an oil rig. While he has been away, there may have been a couple of occasions when she has been invited onto the bed in the morning. If questioned, I will neither confirm nor deny this. Anyway, she followed me up with my cuppa this morning and stood beside the bed wagging and smiling etc and I told her no, get on her own bed. Have just come down to find her in my spot on the couch looking at me in what I can only describe as a challenging way!

My dog will not be moved from the sofa once she's comfy. Here she is, pretending she can't hear me!

Anyone else have a covers re-arranger? Re-home a greyhound - lose your bed. That should be the RGT moto.

crazyspaniel · 27/11/2014 10:40

You are being very cruel to your dog, OP. Luckily I have a good relationship with my dogs, and they kindly let me sleep in their bed (as long as I don't require the duvet).

Weimeraner's are exceptionally smart dogs.
I had one for 13 years, he managed to cook a chicken in the microwave once, I could smell it as I walked in the door one evening.
I didn't want him to cook it, I actually hid it from him as he used to eat everything in sight. He jumped up and pressed all the buttons on the microwave.
They are huge dogs! Mine used to get in my bed at night, then wouldn't shift when I realised he was there. Stubborn things haha.

OP you are VVVVVVVVVVVVU - poor dog!

Loving the photos, everyone!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 27/11/2014 12:22

My two - in the conservatory. They are also allowed on the bed - they come up for a cuddle at bedtime, and then get put downstairs in their own beds, but are convinced that one night, we will forget to take them down, and they'll get to spend the night with us - though how they think we could forget the presence of two 35+kg dogs on the bed with us, I do not know. Especially as ddog2 insists on being between dh and I - so that there is no chance of any hanky panky with her man - with her head on his pillow.

This is my boy sharing the sofa with me for cuddles. He's smiling for the camera. :)

Well I now know what a Plover is, thank you OP!

I'm loving all these gorgeous photos :)

Your spaniel's expression is hilarious, crazy !

I needed to buy a new sofa earlier this year. DP thought I should get an armchair, as our lounge is tiny (he has a recliner) but I pointed out that I needed somewhere for DCat to sit (she won't come on my lap, but loves curling up next to me). I opted for a snuggler (1.5 size, inbetween an armchair and two seater) so that I'd get the 1 and she'd get the .5. Yeah, right! I usually start off the evening ok, but she gradually stretches out, so I'm eventually squashed up against the arm. I know I could, in theory, push her off but as that would be VVVVVVVU I simplky thank her for letting me sit there at all.

Have consulted my four dogs on this matter and the verdict is unanimous.

Dogs are never BU

cherrybombxo · 27/11/2014 14:02

Couldn't find the dog anywhere and it was suspiciously quiet. Found him having a nap like Lord Muck.

GoodKingQuintless · 27/11/2014 14:05

I am sorry, but you just promoted her to your equal when you let her share your bed, so of course she now will try to assert herself as the leader of your pack! It will be interesting to see the dynamics when your dh is back, as she and you will be equals, but where does that put him? Your and her superior?

RedPony · 27/11/2014 14:14

My doggy is very spoilt and has his own sofa now. He's not allowed in bedrooms or in our lounge as he is very good at making the house look like it has been burgled

I've actually had to had an extra pillow above my own in bed (I scoot down about a foot good thing I'm short) for my boy to sleep on otherwise he will help himself to my pillow regardless of wether my head in on it or not. He also often sleeps around my hat as if I was wearing him like a hat. To be honest after nearly loosing him to illness last year I would probably give him the whole bed if it's what he wanted. So happy he is still with us. Not posting a photo of him sleeping on my head because the only ones I have have been taken by my dh while I was still sleeping and I'm no sleeping beauty!

ILiveOnABuildsite · 27/11/2014 15:16

Not in bed but that is his space downstairs!
