AIBU to ask you to share your favourite low calorie snacks

Not strictly aibu but what are your favourite low calorie snacks? I have been hitting the sugar free jelly hard this summer but the cold weather is here and I am not so keen for it anymore. What helps you get through to dinner time??

Homemade salted popcorn, marmite on wwbread toast, no butter.

Hope you find one that hits the spot. Also going to watch with interest. Normally really good. Cold weathers hit and its like I'm eating for hibernation!

Frozen fruit is delicious - frozen grapes, mango, and pineapple are my faves. You can buy the latter two as a smoothie mix from Tesco but eat it solid. This doesn't solve the coldness problem though! Still, you must try it! As for warm things: low calorie hot chocolate like Options or Cadbury's Highlights. Options have loads of yummy flavours like caramel, white chocolate, praline ...yum! This is good if you're only head hungry. If you're tummy hungry have something that isn't nessscarily low calorie but that is healthy such as a slice of brown bread toast with peanut butter (I top this with strawberries but banana is a popular choice too). You could also try making some low calorie soup such as French Onion, mmmm so comforting and virtually calorie free!

Bear fruit nibbles mango and pineapple flavour. Just dried fruit really but a perfect portion and about 80cals. My afternoon work treat to avoid the biscuits.

I'm doing slimming world, the things that get me through the day are...
Seafood sticks
Ham
Chicken drumsticks (skin removed and not cooked in fat)
Ryvita
Cottage cheese
All salad bits/fruit.
Fat free natural yoghurt, if I need a sugar hit I sometimes mix some light hot choc powder in to make a kinda choc moose.

Garlic Mushrooms with fry light.
Stir fry veg and bean sprouts and make up spring rolls with FILO party oven baked and freeze. Slimming world onion bajis again batch cook and freeze. Tzatziki with 0% Greek yogurt (lidl). I bulk cook snacks rather than meals as I don't mind cooking healthy but need a snack NOW. So quick freezer to oven is vital.

When I am dieting, I love milky rolls (look similar to milky bar but two sticks are very low in cals and hit the sugar fix)

Also tesco do choc mousse for about 80 cals

Salt 'n' vinegar rice cakes (28 kcal each, although full of salt so v bad for you), crispbread cheesy (22 kcal per slice), sugar-free marshmallows from Sainsbury's (6 kcal each), Highlights hot chocolate (40 kcal per cup), slim-a-soup (~50 kcal), boiled eggs without the yolk (~20 kcal each).

Not a snack per say but for a nice hot drink try liquorice tea,its sweet and only four calories.

Pickled onions! They're a great alternative to crisps and the vinegar takes the edge off your hunger, plus I really love them. Nuts are a great option because they're full of protein and healthy fats as well as minerals, whilst they aren't low calorie, they DO help you eat less calories overall because they are more satisfying. Low calorie doesn't necessarily mean healthy, you're best off sticking to as much plant-based food as possible :-)

I'm into carrots atm - eating 2kg per week!! I have one with my sandwich at lunchtime, and another in the evening with a small handful of nuts (the small, cheap ones)
Grissini sticks too - cheap in Aldi

Seconding pickled onions. Also roasted chickpeas (not sure of the calorie content, but they must be better for you than crisps).

Fruit & reduced fat yoghurt too.

When I diet, I crave savoury rather than sweet, so I buy the steam bags of veg that go in the microwave and have one with either few spoons of gravy or chili sauce.

But what I really want is a whole loaf of buttered toast!

Fat free natural yoghurt, berries (bought frozen and defrosted in the microwave) with a single meringue nest. Delicious and 2 propoints on weight watchers.

Really though, if you're hungry, eat then and have a smaller portion at dinner. There's not a rule that you have to eat a huge plate full of food each night. :)
