Fucking Stupid Statement To Make.

I love broccoli.

who the fuck in their right mind loves fucking broccoli?

Broccoli is tolerable as a vegetable full of iron and stuff. But in no way ever is it lovable.

Kittens are lovable. Red wine is lovable. Chocolate is an enjoyable food stuff.

Broccoli is not fucking lovable. Therefore 'I love broccoli' is a fucking stupid thing to say.

Most vegetables taste good. Some are tolerable (broccoli). Some taste repulsive (parsnip, sprouts). But none are worthy of love. They don't care or love you back.

Ooh purple sprouting broccoli Shock

FaFoutis · 23/11/2014 18:42

YABU. I love broccoli. I eat bowls of it on its own, and I love it even more with a bit of red pesto on it.

Maybe you are cooking it wrong OP.

FaFoutis · 23/11/2014 18:43

It loves you back by making you healthy - at least that is what I tell the dc.

Chocolate doesn't love you back.

velourvoyageur · 23/11/2014 18:47

Look, you've just not been eating it right.

You need to boil an egg so the yolk's fairly runny, chop it up and mix it with mayo to put on top. That's how you do broccoli.

bigbluestars · 23/11/2014 18:49

Yeuchhh

Bunbaker · 23/11/2014 18:50

I agree with you about parsnips but YABU about broccoli. It is delicious.

SetPhasersTaeMalkie · 23/11/2014 18:50

YABU.

I love broccoli and sprouts. Parsnips are only good in soup.

sunnybobs · 23/11/2014 18:52

Mmm broccoli - google "crack broccoli" and try her recipe its amazing!

Titsalinabumsquash · 23/11/2014 18:54

I love all greens, I've just had a roast dinner that was 1/3 sprouts Grin

NoArmaniNoPunani · 23/11/2014 18:54

YABVU about sprouts. They are amazing roasted with chestnuts and butter. The sprouty farts afterwards are all part of the experience

Thisvehicleisreversing · 23/11/2014 18:55

DS2 loves broccoli.

I like broccoli.

I really love sprouts.

I hate red wine.

HTH.

calmexterior · 23/11/2014 18:56

DH and dd2 love broccoli

TheBatteriesHaveRunOut · 23/11/2014 18:56

I have room in my heart for many things, broccoli included.

It doesn't need to love me back, I'm not needy. My love for broccoli is fulfilling on its own, without reciprocation.

You, OP, might need a cuddle. You sound very angry. Maybe some red wine and kittens would help.

coniferssilhouette · 23/11/2014 18:56

I love broccoli, parsnips and sprouts. I crave the flavour of them, I do actually love the taste of them. I've never been a massive fan of chocolate, even as a child so maybe I'm strange.

Only1scoop · 23/11/2014 18:59

Yabu

Just eat a whole field of tender stem broccoli

Bloody lovely

StarOnTheTree · 23/11/2014 18:59

I like broccoli. I love sprouts and parsnips.

Me too Grin

I used to bribe DD3 with broccoli at the supermarket when she was a toddler. 'If you do x, y or z one more time I'm going to put that broccoli back' Cue wailing, 'Nooooo Mummy, mine broccoli'

BlueGreenHazelGreen · 23/11/2014 19:00

I love broccoli and sprouts and they do love you back.

I live chocolate too but it works against me.

Cheese, wine - meh.

Pisghetti · 23/11/2014 19:03

I used to love broccoli but currently pregnant and have an aversion to it Sad I do genuinely love sprouts and will happily eat a big bowl of them for a meal.

Cheese and I are having an affair. It's not love, it's dirtier than that.

SevenZarkSeven · 23/11/2014 19:04

"Most vegetables taste good. Some are tolerable (broccoli). Some taste repulsive (parsnip, sprouts). But none are worthy of love. They don't care or love you back."

Asparagus?
Deliciously roasted potatoes?
Jersey royals with melted butter on?
Beetroot? (This one may just be me Grin)

APipkinOfPepper · 23/11/2014 19:06

YABU. We eat loads of broccoli in this house. For a couple of years, if you asked DS what his favourite food was, he'd say broccoli! Sadly not any more though - he'd probably say chips or chocolate now Grin

DXBMermaid · 23/11/2014 19:08

I love the stalks of broccoli, much more then the head. Dh gets the top bits and I eat the stalks. Win win situation as far as I'm concerned.

Allisgood1 · 23/11/2014 19:08

Broccoli friend in coconut oil with garlic and salt is LOVELY

TooSpotty · 23/11/2014 19:09

Cauliflower, just stick it raw in the oven and drizzle with oil. Easy peasy. Works with PSB too, and cauliflower!

FreeWee · 23/11/2014 19:11

I love roast broccoli with lemon and garlic. LOVE it! Hate all other roasted veg. Favourite veg is brussel sprouts. Especially overcooked mushy ones. Mmmmm
