To wonder why ANYONE thinks that this is acceptable in a game?

I am not a fan of violent games at the best of times, but apparently now in Grand Theft Auto 5's new upgrade you can have first person sex with a prostitute before shooting her in the head. With real sex noises. You can see a delightful clip here

I think anyone who plays this is sick. But I know that there are kids in my ten year old's class who have this game. Do the parents even know that they can do this???? I cannot believe any parent would be happy letting their kid or teen play this.

Pretty much the only reason supermarkets care about alcohol being sold to minors is that they'd get rapped for it, whereas there's no such regulation on DVDs and games. I really thought that in 2014 when games aren't seen as a kids' thing people wouldn't be boneheaded enough to buy 18 rates game for little kids but sadly not.

There are no rules to say adults can't buy 18 games for kids like there are for alcohol.
Not the retailers fault, ( you never know they probably agree with you) but there's nothing they can do they can't stop them buying it.

It's an 18 rated game, so if you let your child play an 18 when they are much younger that's parental responsibly. Or irresponsibility. And if you don't know what your kids are playing it's on you to google it or sit and play it - just as my parents did with a movie they weren't sure about when we were kids.

The part described and sensationalised here is a tiny part of a massive game that would amass to hours upon hours of game play. I'm a girl who enjoys playing computer games and didn't find this offensive but then as a gamer I knew the content of the game. It's all about being aware of what you or your children are being exposed to ... It's not hard to google anything this day and age so shouldn't be hard to control and be aware of what your children are exposed to.

As for cod, it's war with few swear words in, myself and my brother are a computer game generation having had a Commodore 64 at the tender age of about 6, we've played games like the rocky horror show, commando, street fighter and early versions of gta and tomb raider... And we are both well adjusted grown ups with no real life urge to ... Run around naked, start random fights on the street, have a complex about bust sizes or feel the need to heist a car in our spare time.

It's all about how you balance reality with games as parents. We knew as kids it was a game ... Games don't brain wash your kids to be violent unhinged killers or sex fiends... But it's all about parenting and knowing your own kids grasp of reality and what you want your kids to be exposed to at what age

The one thing I object to is parents calling for games to be banned that their children shouldn't even be playing... There are plenty of my generation who are in their thirties who enjoy games , some 18 rated as a past time and I'm already getting bored of the nanny state control as it is
