This weekend many people in labour have turned against edd. I think its just too late to replace him and we should support him to stop the other two getting in
The has tag has been hijacked I think, not sure if it is genuine.

I will be voting for Tory, but hoping for a UKIP/Tory coalition, then we can see some real change to this country.

GuybrushThreepwoodMP, how can you say someone else view on immigration as Offensive? Angelos02 is very much right. I live in a area that has been f**ked over big time by mass immigration of unskilled labour. They need to be stopped. We shouldn't be letting anyone in that doesn't have skills that are needed.

Then your view is just as offensive and idiotic.

YABVU

Years of awful rule by Labour are the reason we are in this mess. The Tories have had to make some very unpopular decisions in an attempt to start tacking the horrendous mess they have inherited!

I think they deserve another term or even 2 terms in office to see if they can make any inroads into our enormous problems which were largely created by Labour.

YABU. Ed Milliband stabbed his brother in the back, finally married his partner for political reasons, and has a strong vibe of Student Union about him. He comes across as immature. The world's a dangerous place and the country needs statesmen and stateswomen - he's not the guy.

And yep. A Tory / UKIP coalition would get my vote. I however will vote Tory because I can't stand the thought of letting Labour creep in - too risky.

I think Ed M would be a very unstable, ineffectual, embarrassing, potentially dangerous PM. A loose cannon bent on a dream of power at any cost. A bullied kid determined to "show the bastards".

And yes, anyone who runs against their brother for leader of a political party just HAS to be an absolute shit. He just has to be.

Apologies, I got mixed up, yes the national debt has increased massively.

All this talk of a Tory/UKIP coalition makes me shudder. Not least because we could all be dragged out of the EU. The problem with the main political parties is its mainly millionaires looking out for their rich buddies. For example the privatisation of Royal Mail, sold off in large chunks at undervalued prices. They would have no hesitancy is screwing us all over whilst sugar coating it.

It doesn't bare thinking about what dire straits we'd be in if Labour had been in power for the last term of government.

Why? To see women's careers destroyed?
To see the disabled on their knees?
To watch the dismantling of the NHS?
To laugh as the country loses the 20billion per annum that immigrants bring in?
To laugh as we lose further monies and subsidies via the EU?
What's logical about any of that?

So we're all conveniently forgetting that it was Labour who took us into two possibly illegal, definitely unethical and ultimately pointless wars. And lied to us to get us to go into them.

Our education system tumbled down the international rankings during Labour's time in office and more of our children now struggle to read and write.

The cost of housing rocketed during Labour's tenure whilst wages stagnated making most people who didn't buy their home pre-2000 much worse off and created generations who will have a much worse standard of living than their parents or grandparents.

Honestly I think an awful lot of Labour voters do not understand any of the issues or are objectively able to weight up the policies, they just follow the herd and vote for them because they've been told they are 'nice' and it's the right on trendy thing to do.

Labour are very much the party of the wealthy university educated middle class. They only view the working class in terms of a paternalistic benefit culture and don't view them as people capable of aspiration or independence.

I despair if they get back in but I don't feel there is anyone I can vote for. They're going to give the working poor another kicking. I count myself as the working poor and the last Labour government was catastrophic for me and my family.

Why? To see women's careers destroyed? - Crap, total crap
To see the disabled on their knees? - No, but to see the many people who play the system from being stopped.
To watch the dismantling of the NHS? - I don't really see this as working and wouldn't mind seeing it go.
To laugh as the country loses the 20billion per annum that immigrants bring in? - Bullshit numbers, how about the billions we pay to the EU to support Eastern Europe? what about the people that are coming into this country for hand-outs, free healthcare and housing?
To laugh as we lose further monies and subsidies via the EU? you do know that the EU costs us a lot more than we get back right?
What's logical about any of that?

lornathewizzard , you said "dragged out of the EU" surely if everyone gets a vote then its not dragging the UK out of the EU but going with what most people want?

Dawndonnagain. That £20 billion figure is misleading. It's tax paid. What it doesn't take into account is the fact that if they weren't here, that £20 billion may well be paid into the system by people who were already here. If you subtract the figure of the people displaced onto benefits and the lessening of tax revenue due to wage stagnation caused by incomers prepared to work for less you would find that figure would be much, much lower and in fact probably a negative. All it actually proves is that most EU incomers are not on benefits. But incomers on benefits has never really been the problem, it's just been a useful distraction techinique from the left.

The real problem is that these incomers are prepared to work for less so British people are being pushed onto benefits. If those jobs had gone to British workers, a British worker would have come off benefits plus the employer might have been forced to offer higher wages in order to get an employee so tax revenue from the job would also have been higher. When you factor in the benefits of giving a British worker a job and higher wages meaning more tax revenue then the figure of benefit to the treasury would have been far higher. Just because there was a net benefit doesn't mean that it's the best system, the fairest or the one that will benefit the greater good of the country most.

I don't believe for a single second that most immigrants are a net contributer to the UK. Earn minimum wage and then take out of the NHS, education etc.

I'm really shocked that people want a Tory/UKIP coalition.

As a disabled person the thought of that is already keeping me awake at night. There aren't many people playing the system. The Govt confirms it's less than 1%.

If we haven't got an NHS then I am fucked. I need hospital treatment at least every six weeks, god knows where I'm supposed to find the money for that!

But as long as we keep those immigrants out, hey? Hmm

Dawn I hope you are right I really do.

Ed just isn't up to the job of driving the agenda.

He had zero charisma and looks out of his depth and these things matter to voters.

Territt16 - it is possible I'm still bitter about the Scottish independence referendum ;)
If everyone in Scotland (and I believe NI and Wales) voted against leaving the EU, we would still be forced to leave if everyone in the South of England wanted to go. And maybe I'm expecting too much, but I do not believe that the campaign would be anywhere near fair or truthful, what the establishment and press want, the establishment and press most likely will get.

And surely if the problem with immigration is immigrants being willing to work for lower wages, then legislation is needed for a living wage to stop giving employers an easy way out, rather than blaming people for trying to scrape up living
