Looks like this weekend she alone will hold the record for most British female number one singles. I like her but she just has people pick songs for her and records an album in a week.

Currently the record is shared with Rita ora and geri halliwell. Ora has an amazing voice. Halliwell wrote lots of her songs and even signs many of them so her deaf fans can enjoy them.

You may not like her music, fair enough, that is your choice. However, like it or not, she has achieved this goal because people buy her records.

I'd dispute that, given how many fewer records are sold these days in absolute terms. Someone like Kate Bush may have had fewer number ones, but I'd be willing to bet she outsold CC by miles any day.

I agree with GreatAuntDinah. CC might have had more number ones, but if they used actual numbers of records sold as a mark of success she wouldn't even be in the top 100.

She is hardly a talent imo. Last Saturday nights performance on X Factor was so cringeworthy. I actually thought she was going to take a crap on the stage!

I can think of several more talented British females.

She is a half decent dancer but that is it.

She is pretty.

That is all she has going for her really. I think she is actually a pretty spiteful person, the looks she gives contestants she doesn't like are awful. I don't think she seems nice at all.

She plays the game well and I can respect her for that at least.

She also went back to X Factor because without it she just wasn't in the public eye. Without it I think she would be gone very quickly.

She has basically got where she is on her (admittedly stunning) looks.

If you watch her original Popstars audition, the singing was actually pretty dire, she can barely hold a note. But all 3 judges (Geri Halliwell, Pete Waterman and Louis Walsh) are mesmerised by her....because she is so pretty. In fact I don't think the singing is mentioned at all, but they way the talk they know she is a popstar in the making.

I do respect her for playing the game and achieving a lot with not much raw material in the as of musical talent. But I do agree with pp who said that she is undoubtably a bitch underneath the big hair and white teeth - she sort of puts across this try hard, I know everything so don't mess with me faux dignified stance with people she doesn't like (am thinking about Wagner and that lady from this series with the very close together eyes?)

Ultimately she strikes me as someone who would give you a smack in the mouth for looking at her the wrong way in a nightclub.....oh wait....

A cursory google tells me KB's Hounds of love sold 600,000 copies on release, CC's Three words 125,000.

It's like when people describe Jennifer Lopez as a musician. I always forget she has a music career.

She's vile. I hate her for that attack but I also hate her Kimberly and Nicola for the way they treated the rest of of Girl's Aloud (Sarah and particularly Nadine). You could tell they were the bitchy little clique centred around Cheryl who were jealous of the fact Nadine had more talent in her little finger than they had in their entire bodies. It's to Sarah Harding's credit that she refused to join in.

Cheryl has made a nasty dig at her in the press today saying Nadine 'Talks shit' saying she didn't break up Girl's Aloud. She said it was all Nadine's fault 'because she was the one who wanted to go off and record solo stuff and have a hiatus'. Conveniently forgetting that she released her own solo stuff a year before Nadine and the hiatus was also for the benefit of her solo career.

They are insisting that she sang live. And I think she probably did. With a backing track. On in other words a recorded version of her song was playing so loudly although she was singing live you either couldn't hear it or heard very little as the backing track drowned her out. But she can still truthfully say she was 'singing live'.
