Apologies if there already is one but I haven't found it. Quite a few acronyms I know/can figure out but there are some ones that no matter how long I think, I just can't figure out what they stand for. AIBU (I know that one!) to think a glossary would be helpful? (Feel free to just say what they all mean for me)

The spotted dick that is

Mind you, it doesn't really matter what it is. It's a good solid strategy.

BuzzardBird · 21/10/2014 17:03

You don't punch a spotted dick, you trample on it barefoot. Gives a very satisfying squelch.

frizzcat · 21/10/2014 17:12

BuzzardBird
YABVU you can't get your bare feet out in Sainsbury's

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 21/10/2014 17:32

I'd like to trample a quiche in Waitrose. I really would. Only a cooked one, mind you. I'm not U.

frizzcat · 21/10/2014 18:23

Un-cooked quiche?
In Waitrose?

I wasn't aware of Netmums until after Mumsnet was pushed in my face. I think it's a bit of a rose vs gin as a preferred drink somedays.
Other days I just steer well clear of the internet.

headinhands I fucking clicked that link. I feel unclean. Mom...gosh...pee. Kin ell.

IneedAwittierNickname · 21/10/2014 19:55

They have goats and hippos on net mums! ShockHmm

ElphabaTheGreen · 21/10/2014 19:59

The downside of this thread is that one is inexorably drawn to having a look at The Fluffy Pink Side (given that we are The Dark Side). If the rainbow, tickers and photographs of babies in fairy outfits don't make your eyeballs bleed, the grammar and txt spk will. Confused

LittleMisslikestobebythesea · 21/10/2014 20:23

They have the coffee lounge, we have gin a factory

babsmam · 21/10/2014 20:40

I Have tears of laughter rolling down my cheeks at the abuse of poor, innocent baked goods in sainsburys.

ElleyBear13 · 21/10/2014 21:58

welcome! I'm new-ish too, prefer this forum tbh got a bit lost trying to understand what babydust was on netmums :D

Fuckerysmuckeryboilsnspornery · 21/10/2014 22:34

Goats? We're we not promised goats? I want a goat! They can stick their hippos up their arses though. Ow.

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 21/10/2014 22:40

I do rather like the HIPPO and GOAT on that NM link.

Off to punch a lemon drizzle...

IneedAwittierNickname · 21/10/2014 22:51

But I don't understand how hippo and goat are shorthand for what they are shorthand for Confused

ha - I stumbled across mn aibu and really enjoyed it - got the names mixed up and the next day I was scouring netmums trying to find aibu - thought maybe I had to join and couldn't figure out why I had seen it before abd couldn't now - still couldn't find it then searched again and realised that it had been mn and promptly joined here - thank goodness!

maddening · 21/10/2014 22:56

if you will stand on food I imagine jelly to be lovely - squishing up through your toes - am not sure I get the violence to food thing though.

TiggyD · 21/10/2014 23:00

The Netmum moderators are so tight arsed about everything their poos come out like spaghetti.

ScreamEggsAndHam · 22/10/2014 01:39

They used to have a Tantrums and Tiaras. Kind of like a prettier version of AIBU. Then it got pulled as people started getting nasty to each other Sad

MoominKoalaAndMiniMoom · 22/10/2014 01:46

You can't polish a turd, but you can cover it in glitter and call it Netmums.

moxon · 22/10/2014 05:43

Those darn parallel universes, where things are just never quite where you left them.

Thumbwitch · 22/10/2014 06:05

Glad you've seen the error of your ways, OP! Grin
