I honestly don't know how a "regular" thread can actually bother anyone, scroll past it and ignore, or hide it. If you're stupid enough to read the content when it annoys you then that's not the wenchs' problem Grin.

I don't post because my mn presence is too sporadic to keep a conversation up.

moxon · 19/10/2014 10:24

Oo-hoh: Swagger Inn. With capital letters.
Not 'swagger in' as a descriptive term (with spelling error) for people who swagger into threads making provocative comments and then just buggering off never to be seen again.

It took me three pages of reading before I cottoned on. Blush

QueenTilly · 19/10/2014 10:30

This thread and the accusation that the Musketeers' fans have rapey titles reminds me of the time a woman started a thread asking for help and support with a sexual assault and put trigger in the title. One of the very first posts was from someone who just posted something cross about her putting 'trigger' in the title. It was something like " trigger FFS". Dunno why I keep remembering it though.

Personally, I think there's a time and a place for discussing whether 'trigger' is effective/overused and the thread of a sexual assault victim is not it.

I like my cliquey thread. I need to know I'm not the only person negotiating a fucked up life with a smile and a swear.

ChippingInLatteLover · 19/10/2014 10:33

I'm still quite [baffled] by it all

maras2 · 19/10/2014 10:34

I like to ' discuss the Archers ' on the Radio Addict's thread.Does this seem cliquey? If so, tough.Just scroll on by.

EllenMumsnet · 19/10/2014 10:35

Morning all. Just a polite request for folk not to call troll on threads, but drop us a line in sunny MNHQ it's what we live for.

BTW, as a recruitment drive for Swagger Inn, works a treat .

If old enough to fancy Oliver Reed in the 1973 version, am I still welcome? Grin

Oliver Reed, Ellen? What about Michael York! When i was about 11 I wrote him a fan letter and addressed it - 'Michael York, Hollywood" - he never replied......

Fairenuff · 19/10/2014 10:45

If posters have called troll on threads, then their posts should be deleted shouldn't they Ellen for, um, troll hunting?

Also, isn't this a TAAT? Why is it still here when similar other ones have been pulled and posters specifically asked not to post about other threads.

Fairenuff · 19/10/2014 10:45

Ah, sorry, I see you have deleted the troll hunting post.

Waitingonasunnyday · 19/10/2014 10:48

I like seeing them, I've never clicked on one, but I like being in a place of friendliness Smile

Long May They Swagger

LaComtessdelafere · 19/10/2014 10:55

Wine cheers Waiting.

Ellenmumnet - we'd love to see you there. Get your corset laced up tight and place your order with Mother S at the bar...

EllenMumsnet · 19/10/2014 10:58

Make mine a frothy mead. Corset at the ready Grin

Sparklegeek · 19/10/2014 10:58

EllenMumsnet you need to google the present-day Aramis. Really you do. But actually you'd be welcome anyway but be aware you do have to sign your life away to us. 69,000 posts & counting Grin

Sparklegeek · 19/10/2014 11:00

You're in EllenMumsnet. But don't say I didn't warn you.

DoughnutSelfie · 19/10/2014 11:00

I laughed at sunbathe's post

Proper cackle

HannahHorvathWhoGotIBCShoutBtw · 19/10/2014 11:10

Ellen - we have wenches ranging from child free, single 24 yr old - to glamorous grandmother 60 something year old. So you're in.

We've got you.

Still utterly lost with all this - only more so! BCAS? Whassat then?

Anyway - I think people who hiss 'clique' at things they're not part of - and wouldn't want to be part of - are beyond ridiculous and probably smelly too. How is it anyone's business what goes on in a thread that is open to all but attractive only to it's contributors. I don't get that level of interest and spitty spite.

QueenAnneofAustriaSpain · 19/10/2014 11:33

Does anyone else see the irony in the fact that the wenches started in AIBU? And, the banter in here is going wench ways.

thereturnofshoesy · 19/10/2014 11:43

these type of threads take me back to what mn was like when I joined.
load if in threads by cod and her crew(what ver happened to her.
surely if you don't like a group thread you hide it.

HannahHorvathWhoGotIBCShoutBtw · 19/10/2014 11:44

I see the irony that the words....

BettyMoody[t-word]chops get a post deleted.

But calling the titles of an ongoing thread 'rapey' is ok. I mean, just what is she calling the the Swagger Inn OP??

That^ is offensive.

DrMalcolmTuckerWhosMistress · 19/10/2014 11:49

Oh Aaaaaaarmand I know it's Sunday but do you have five minutes?
