I find them over-prolific.
And I can't hide them as I'm on my phone.

Anyway, all cliquey threads should feck off

Please define 'cliquey threads', BettyMoody. Zombie would hate to think that her many and ongoing support threads were somehow offensive.

ChippingInLatteLover · 19/10/2014 00:17

They aren't harming anyone - what's your problem? Why should they hide away - they probably want new people to keep joining them. (Whoever and whatever they are?!)

Whiskwarrior · 19/10/2014 00:19

Wow.

I find the Swagger Inn threads bewildering and bonkers (cos I didn't watch The Musketeers so don't fancy any of them) but they're completely harmless and I just don't click on them.

I'm quite partial to the BCAS threads however, but can also see how they're not for everybody.

Worst thing about this thread is that I'm not entirely sure OP actually understands what that place is actually for and has been stupid enough to namedrop it in a thread title!

So I'm going to report this thread and ask HQ to either rename it (although it's a pointless, bitchy little thread so what's the point, really?) or delete it altogether for its utter stupidity.

AgentZigzag · 19/10/2014 00:19

OP must be sleeping it off taking the good advice and hiding them all.

She could at least have told us what they're about before fucking off.

Whiskwarrior · 19/10/2014 00:21

Oh, and Flowers to Zombie, who I've never interacted with (and who probably doesn't know me Grin) but whose posts in her great Zombie-like manner always make me smile and whose story I know of and have fingers crossed for.

RandallFloyd · 19/10/2014 00:24

Gosh yes, damn those people coming on here, making friends.
Being all chatty and having fun.

Fuckers.

QueenAnneofAustriaSpain · 19/10/2014 00:26

RandallFloyd - I would like there to be a 'like' button on here for your comment. I might have snorted and toddler now stirring.

HoneyDragonMumshnet · 19/10/2014 00:31

I just figured that were like the Twilight lot. Only more renaissance style.

Perhaps you'd like to have a chat with our coffee drinking facebooker friend Betty, they do need instructions on where to go. As opposed to a topic using well established Quiche.

Flopsy28 · 19/10/2014 00:37

Me too anne, randallfloyd, I just don't know how we have the gall. Totally harmless we know where you live and 'rapey'? Really? Wow.

Whiskwarrior · 19/10/2014 00:41

I don't get how they're rapey either Confused

o0 · 19/10/2014 00:53

Have you seen the Christmas bargain thread oh fishy OP? Practically condoning bestiality.

These people with their friendly threads and joke titles. Bunch of bastards

Off The Beaten Track's too good for them. Send them to Bounty, that'll teach them!

HerrenaHarridan · 19/10/2014 00:54

Some people just get really foot stampy about any references made to something they don't her, suds belt everyone is all cliquey royalty.

Do you remember that horrible thread that made lottie stop posting about wilf? I don't think I've ever been so gaping mouthed at mn as then.

Some people seem to think the world is on pause when they're not watching it. I blame on demand television Grin

HerrenaHarridan · 19/10/2014 00:55

Her = get

Sud belt = suddenly

Go figure

Oblomov · 19/10/2014 08:10

Ha ha. An AIBU? About US? Really?
Christ on a bike, I've heard it ALL now!! Hmm

Next time there is any dribbling , over hot men, we'll shoooot them down aswell shall we? Or any Mn'ers getting together to have a laff and a giggle.

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 19/10/2014 08:13

Please could you explain which thread titles have been 'rapey', OP ?

Thank you to all PPs who have suggested that the OP might just hide the threads / Other Subjects rather than be forced to see them.

I don't know, I guess all the stuff on MN that doesn't interest me, I just ignore. The internet/MN would be a very boring and weirdly specific place if it only catered to things that interest me.

As for cliquey, I guess there are general joining-in requirements :

  1. Did you like the BBC TV series 'The Musketeers' broadcast in Jan-Mar this year ?
  2. Are you willing to overlook the historical inaccuracies, plot holes and anachronisms ?
  3. Do you fancy at least one of the cast members ?
  4. Would you like to occasionally/frequently spend time in an imaginary pub talking about 'The Musketeers', and other subjects including, but not limited to
DCs DH/DPs Work/careers Childcare Step-parenting ExH/Ps DGCs Clothing/make-up choices Other television programmes Sporting events Other celebrities Domestic chores Family health Financial matters Holiday destinations
