By Samaritan's Purse

I know I'm not the only one

who else have they decided to silence?

It's quite interesting that they dislike criticism so much

HQ have an all day 'away day' with the local team there tomorrow so they are not exactly thick on the ground. Then there's the Saturday tech stuff too.

MmeLindor · 09/10/2014 21:43

I don't know how MNHQ is set up, and if they can call their lawyers day and night, but it might be tomorrow before they have a definite answer, Showy.

If I were you, I'd go through my posting history and report any threads that you want deleted, while you are waiting for a response.

It's unlikely to go viral right now - it doesn't actually happen within an hour or so of somethign being posted, even if it sometimes looks like that.

What I'd suggest is that those who are affected chat offline (on private FB group maybe?) and think about how you want to go forward. Maybe there are one or two who'd be ok being 'spokesperson', and being IDed with real names?

Agree, Prism. I didn't realise that they hadn't responded to your request for deletion of the post in question.

I am really quite angry that so many of you are left worried and in the lurch.

Kate, have you had an email from MNHQ too? I hope not and I hope you can step away from this thread Thanks. Look after yourself.

I simply cannot believe that actions taken so far by SP are any more than bluster and throwing their weight around - I predict a publicity melt-down of epic proportions for them if they persist tbh.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 09/10/2014 21:49

If the shit hit the fan I'd be up for donating to legal fees. Is there a way to set this up as a crowdfunding thingy? Not suggesting anybody donates now but if it came to it ...

Mintyy · 09/10/2014 21:50

Why are people at risk of being outed?

I don't understand!

Haven't read whole thread but just retweeted...What twats! :0)

LilAnnieAmphetamine · 09/10/2014 21:53

Theprism

No I was not offering it as an excuse. I was merely trying to explain that you'll likely get an even poorer than usual response because of this.

TweetingInFury · 09/10/2014 21:54

Mumsnet are still tweeting so there's someone there.....

Kate, I don't think that this thread is any kind of problem to anyone.
Don't let this upset you. Please.

Sallyingforth · 09/10/2014 21:57

Let's all give MNHQ some space to deal with this properly.

If Messrs Sue, Grabbit and Runne are involved, MN have to be extremely careful and take proper advice. If posts have not been removed that is very likely to be a positive decision rather than carelessness.

The tweets may be scheduled in advance. I really really doubt that anything will come of this. SP need to make sure that they are squeaky clean before setting anything into motion. It's an expensive old business.

PausingFlatly · 09/10/2014 22:02

Oh no! There are some posters de-regging /deleting whom I really like - and who have done some brilliant work on various campaigns, official and unofficial.

I understand why you want to de-reg, but MN will be poorer for the loss of you, and the loss of your old posts too.Sad

gordyslovesheep · 09/10/2014 22:02

yes Sally it's easy to be calm when it's not you being threatened
