Have you ever received a really strange response to a post on here?

I remember about a year ago posting about someone at work who talked constantly about her child, on and on and was I being unreasonable to find it a bit very annoying. I got the usual mix of YABU, YANBU, all perfectly logical responses. Then someone posted 'YABU. Maybe she's nervous', disappeared and never posted again on the thread Confused.

Just wondering what odd or illogical responses you've had to posts on here?

Well you were hours ahead of me BOF. I also learned the word Hoyden on MN which I think is also a very good word, and I'm a massive fan of nefarious.

HappyYoni · 10/10/2014 18:57

That is no way an actual word fanjo! I'm off to google.

HappyYoni · 10/10/2014 18:58

Shit the bed, it's a real word!

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 10/10/2014 18:59

It is!

PrettyPictures92 · 10/10/2014 19:03

Brouhaha - I'm extremely childish but that word made me laugh Grin

I also love cantankerous

Pagwatch · 10/10/2014 19:04

I like hyperbole because in my head I pronounce it hyper-bowl and I say it loud and in an American accent like I'm announcing the start of the super bowl or a boxing match. My head does weird shit sometimes.

PrettyPictures92 · 10/10/2014 19:05

Cockalorum and Crapulence

I swear I'm not drunk. I've not touched the wine tonight but I can't stop laughing now Grin

Pagwatch · 10/10/2014 19:06

Curmudgeon.

PrettyPictures92 · 10/10/2014 19:09

Hemidemisemiquaver

NanFucker · 10/10/2014 19:10

I don't get how everyone's saying that minty could clearly recognise herself from the description of 'prickly, piss on chips' etc? If that's the case then aren't you saying she is like that?

Reminds me of a thread where someone referred to a well known poster as someone who always wanted hand outs and claimed to be poor. Lots of said posters friends were all 'how can you be so horrible about x' not seeming to realise that if they'd recognised that description of their friend then the friend must actually be like that! Made me laugh anyway.

HoldenMcGroin · 10/10/2014 19:13

Hurhur at Hyper Bowl. Does it have Fierce Beyonce bellocking out Stars and Stripes whooOooooOOOOOOoooo yeah etc?

Also I proffer emend for your lexicon, Happy. A useful word.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 10/10/2014 19:16

Nanfucker you deliver a well executed snidey PA

wooooosualsuspect · 10/10/2014 19:17

She recognised herself from the thread that was being referred to.

NanFucker · 10/10/2014 19:19

Fanjo thank you, it's being here ten years, has obviously honed my skills :D

HoldenMcGroin · 10/10/2014 19:22

Sigh

NanF. Mintyy replied to the initial post about the username.

The prickly nasty posts, although made BEFORE her post outing self, were not read by her til after she posted hence her posting Oh Gosh I have a reputation straight after. X posts iyswim.

Also your your username is utterly disgusting and abhorrent. HTH.

NanFucker · 10/10/2014 19:25

My username???? It's the character in a book Confused

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 10/10/2014 19:27

Is it not an x factor joke?

IonaMumsnet · 10/10/2014 19:28

We're hearing the tintinnabulation of reports bells here. Let's keep it peaceful and loving. We don't encourage Machiavellianism on the Mumsnet boards.

wooooosualsuspect · 10/10/2014 19:31

I wouldn't like to read that book. Maybe it's discussed on them there adult sites.

Mintyy · 10/10/2014 19:32

NanFucker - I recognised myself as the person who commented negatively about bendydick's username on her lighthearted thread. See my post of 18:47 yesterday.

Derleth · 10/10/2014 19:32

I thought it was an X Factor thing too. Reminds me of Nantucket, which I'm not sure it's supposed to.

HappyYoni · 10/10/2014 19:32

Omg even mnhq are getting in in the interesting word thing, I am tickled pink!
I always say hyperbowl because although I love words I'm rubbish at remembering correct pronunciation.

NanFucker · 10/10/2014 19:34

I've always liked Tintagel, rolls around the mouth

Boredinchippenham · 10/10/2014 19:38

I haven't had any weird replays myself but have read a great many
I don't normally post because nobody ever replies to meHmm ( obviously tommy no mates! )

Derleth · 10/10/2014 19:39
