Have you ever received a really strange response to a post on here?

I remember about a year ago posting about someone at work who talked constantly about her child, on and on and was I being unreasonable to find it a bit very annoying. I got the usual mix of YABU, YANBU, all perfectly logical responses. Then someone posted 'YABU. Maybe she's nervous', disappeared and never posted again on the thread Confused.

Just wondering what odd or illogical responses you've had to posts on here?

Nice :)
There's very much a P theme so far

HappyYoni · 09/10/2014 23:22

Oops sorry hadn't quite caught up with thread!

TheSpottedZebra · 09/10/2014 23:55

Oh come on, Bendy had not made anyone identifiable -any more than anyone else on this thread had done. It was sheer chance that I happened to come across her post on here (and chance again that Mintyy would recognise the thread also. IIRC we were the only 3 posters on that thread). What was posted on bendy ' s thread was rude enough for it to be remembered by me some weeks/months later.

I was much ruder, so all of you have a go at me by all means.

HoldenMcGroin · 10/10/2014 00:00

Tell us yer fave word, Zebby.

Obvs hoping it ain't "prickly" or "nasty" lololol

TheSpottedZebra · 10/10/2014 00:09

Nope, favourite word is not prickly nor nasty. And if you're implying that i am either/both of those things, that is of course entirely your prerogative.

I don't really have just one favourite word. I like plinth and plethora too, but I suspect you might not want to share, lololol. So I'll go for unctuous.

HoldenMcGroin · 10/10/2014 00:13

Good choice.

TheSpottedZebra · 10/10/2014 00:22

Ta

HappyYoni · 10/10/2014 08:46

Unctuous! Love it. That's going on my list.

deakymom · 10/10/2014 09:45

i was told off for not using commas in my post and it was reconstructed and paragraphed correctly

also when i asked if a stand in could be used for godparents at a christening i was slagged off to the high hills as i was cross i had changed it so many times for holidays then i had to change it again because someone mom was ill and they had an appointment the day before only one person was helpful and i had to ask to delete the thread because of the venom!

thelastthneed · 10/10/2014 09:58

This thread is really making me GrinGrinGrin

KeemaNaanAndCurryOn · 10/10/2014 10:06

Bendy didn't make Mintyy identifiable. Mintyy revealed herself

bendydickcumonmybaps · 10/10/2014 11:32

I didn't use her name..I stand by my assessment aswell.
That was the weirdest comment I have received on here which is what the thread is about, so blame the OP if you must. I don't post much on here so keeping a spreadsheet would be fairly pointless but whatever floats your boat I guess.

Fenton · 10/10/2014 12:01

Okay Bendy, first post on this subject 'this happened to me on a thread - how surprising-odd'. absolutely fine and yes in the spirit of the thread, blah blah.

Your second post on the thread however you stated that very poster was prickly nasty everywhere, - not okay. (because it made it so identifiable who the posted was, FYI people AS on here often - v nosey.)

which wasn't helped by SpottedZebra's assertion that said poster was a serial chip-pisser.

Not very nice for glaringly obvious said poster all round.

Anyway said poster is not terribly bothered as it happens so I'll say more, except people with NNames like yours do tend to be bored teenage boys on half term (sorry) so I can see where she was coming from.

bendydickcumonmybaps · 10/10/2014 12:15

Rudeness is not nice either...but whatever. I didn't deserve her comments, off to deregister anyway.
Not a boy or a teenager though.

Fenton · 10/10/2014 12:20

I'm not saying that you are bendy, just trying to possibly explain the reaction, - it happens a lot that silly boys come to this site to strike up chats with grown women for amusement and they very often have rude-word usernames, that's all - there's no need to go a dereg.

Mintyy · 10/10/2014 12:45

Oh honestly, you're de-regging because someone raised an eyebrow at your username?

Good lord.

Kewcumber · 10/10/2014 12:55

Oh the delicious irony of a poster called bendydickcumonmybaps saying "I think the poster in question is a bit prickly and nasty on most threads" swiftly followed by "Rudeness is not nice"!

And no I didn't get the Benedict Cumberbatch reference at all just thought it was a rather icky username [old gimmer emoticon]

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 10/10/2014 12:58

you need to be a wee bit more robust if having a risque name :)

TheSpottedZebra · 10/10/2014 13:01

So bendy is still getting a kicking from people who weren't even on the thread that was referred to in the first place, even though the poster identified herself, and has continually said she's not that bothered by what was said?

Will more people come along to slag off her name, whilst ignoring the smut everywhere else on mumsnet?

Vintagejazz · 10/10/2014 13:02

I don't think it's risqué, just immature and schoolboy sniggery.

OP posts:
Mintyy · 10/10/2014 13:03

She is not "getting a kicking" though is she Zebra? People are being perfectly polite.

HoldenMcGroin · 10/10/2014 13:06

Oh dear

PrettyPictures92 · 10/10/2014 13:09

Now now, this is supposed to be a funny thread! Set down your buns and surrender or I'll be forced to tell you all the story about my dd shouting about my ds having blue balls Grin

TheSpottedZebra · 10/10/2014 13:09

Mintyy, disagree. Well, sort of. It's a rather polite kicking of the sort of mass passive aggressive sniping thatt MN specialises in sometimes.

TheSpottedZebra · 10/10/2014 13:11

Have a go at me, I said more.
But no, people want to niggle at the one who seems most bothered.
