To wonder why there are men posting here?

The website is called MUMSnet. Not dadsnet or parentsnet, but MUMSnet. Most people who post here are female so why men would even want to post here is beyond me. It's even creepier when they don't have any kids.

I'm sure this has been mentioned before but what makes me laugh are the couples on here.
The thought of them in the same/different room of the house posting their thoughts and watching out to back each others opinion.
I saw a thread once where it was very obvious that 2 were married/partners who jumped in to have a go at another poster.
You'd think they had better things to do Grin I usually post when dh is out or busy.

I don't think it's the men who post are the creepy ones tbh.
Just the ones who lurk and then PM.

I've had some disgusting PMs. I delete them before reading (so don't bother writing me any)

Also, tbf, I'm not sure why men would see this as their natural shed. My DH posts on lots of fora, but absolutely draws the line at coming to a site where the majority of posters are women. But then, he's a feminist, and knows his place Grin

I have to admit I feel men who post on MN don't interest me particularly.
They're still welcome, but I'm not really interested in their perspective in general- I feel they have nothing special on offer to me.
(As a disclaimer, I do the majority of the DIY so I don't need erm, "manly" Wink advice, and I don't post on MN for yadda yadda, long winded positional arguments, with wiki references, that seem characteristic of men's posting style ).

Each to their own I suppose.

I've never had an abusive/nasty PM - do I need to worry?! Wink

I would leave MN like a shot if DH registered on here Shock - much as I like sharing the occasional thread on here with him...

I have posted a problem here because I value the opinions of mums, and my male mates often offer a very different perspective. I think it is very useful to seek a spectrum of views.
