Just curious as it seems to be everywhere nowadays but I'm not sure if this is a realistic perception. Is it just celebrities or is it us normal folk too? I think I'd be tempted if I had the money although not sure I'd actually go through with it because of the fear of it going wrong (infection, looking worse than before etc.).

Am saving up for full abdominoplasty, but it's going to take aaaaages - prices I've found range from about £6-7k. Worried about the aftercare and so on, so would love to hear from someone who's had it done and whether they think it was worth it.

ToastyFingers · 20/05/2016 15:00

If I had bags of cash I'd have lips on my thighs. They're flipping huge, even when I'm quite slim elsewhere.
I'd also have a boob lift . 2years so far of breastfeeding have taken their toll and they're pretty droopy.

Everything else is fine though, I don't want to change what I was given, just turn the years back a bit.

Littleballerina · 20/05/2016 15:10

I would have a boob job if I had the money.

NotQuiteJustYet · 20/05/2016 15:54

Having gained and lost weight more times than I care to admit to, I will be saving to have a breast lift. I don't have any DC yet so my decision needs to be whether to wait until after they have come along whilst living with being unhappy with my body or wait until DC have happened and not risk any damage to expensive surgery.

Florinda2016 · 20/05/2016 15:54

I haven't but my daughter had her ears pinned privately some years ago. It has transformed her self confidence

luellabelle · 20/05/2016 16:51

Botox is my best friend. I have it 2-3 times a year and it makes the world of difference to how I feel about myself

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 20/05/2016 17:07

I had a breast reduction at 15. They're still massive now though 34GG.

maisiejones · 20/05/2016 18:19

I would never ever go abroad for cosmetic surgery. It's far too dangerous just for the sake of economy. I had a lower face lift and blepharoplasty with a renowned plastic surgeon in the UK. He was also an NHS consultant doing serious stuff like burns and reconstruction work. Someone like him is who you should choose - not a clinic you find advertised in the back of a magazine.

ImBrian · 20/05/2016 18:30

I had a boob job several years ago in my mid 20s which I have never regretted. I was totally flat chested and the size they are now is perfect for my frame.
I've just started having Botox and lip fillers but only a little so I don't look 'done'. If I was rich I think I'd get loads done, I have wrinkly hooded eyes, a huge nose and after 5 kids my stomach muscles need reattaching.

Equiem89 · 20/05/2016 18:31

I'm 27 and look a lot younger than I am so I don't need any Botox yet, but I will have it in the future.
I haven't had children yetand my 30FF's are still very perky. However I have always been self conscious about my asymmetry. So if money was no object I would get that sorted. I would get veneers as well

Hulababy · 20/05/2016 18:37

I recently had my eye sight corrected using ReLEx SMILE (one of the latest forms of eye surgery)
I guess that is often counted as cosmetic, as it isn't medically required.

GipsyDanger · 20/05/2016 18:38

My plan is to have a tummy tuck and lipo for my 30th. Gotta love finance Grin
I'm researching the surgeries at the moment. I'm one that needs to know everything before I commit. I've gained a bit since having my ds and also have the 'c-section shelf'. Going to get back to my goal weight and maintain as a goal then get the surgery (if needed) as a reward.

AnnieOnAMapleLeaf · 20/05/2016 18:43

I had a breast reduction 20 years ago and I have never regretted it for a moment.

If money wasn't an issue, I would have loads done:

  • botox
  • brow lift
  • neck lift
  • nose job
  • lipo
  • tummy tuck
  • excess skin removal

Based on that list, I think it's pretty safe to assume that I am not a fan of how I look.

GipsyDanger · 20/05/2016 18:53

If money was no object I'd get a breast lift to. I've always been big chested and they were always going to head south. I imagine after I finish breastfeeding I'll have 2 socks with an apple in them :( that and it's more nip than boob at the moment ha ha haGrin

VinoTime · 20/05/2016 18:54

You know, I actually feel very lucky to be able to say that I'm happy with the way I look. Face, boobs, arse, etc - all fine. I wouldn't do a thing.

The only hang up I have is my weight. I went from a 8/10 (I was teeny tiny) while pregnant to a 12/14. Now I can lose the weight, but the jelly mummy tummy and disgusting overhang I've been left with makes me incredibly self conscious. So if I had the cash, I'd probably go for a tummy tuck, just to make my stomach smoother and flatter again.

SaltMarshPirate · 20/05/2016 18:57

I have Botox and lip fillers on a regular basis. I am 40 next year and am having a boob job. Breastfeeding the 2dc has really taken its toll! After a particularly brutal gym class last Monday I am much more open to the idea of lipo on my inner thighs!

VimFuego101 · 20/05/2016 19:14

I had crowns put on my teeth. They were hideous. People used to think I was miserable; i wasn't, I just hated my teeth. Now I smile all the time, they were worth every penny.

I would like a tummy tuck and muscle repair.

AnnieOnAMapleLeaf · 21/05/2016 00:37

Ooh yes - I'd do my teeth too! Mine aren't that bad but I would like them bleached.

Patterkiller · 21/05/2016 00:45

My DH needs it far more than me but as society deems it ok for him to grow old gracefully, so am I. Wrinkles and all.

Shesinfashion · 21/05/2016 00:47

Not personally and don't think I'd ever consider it. I think I look alright as I am. My friend had a labiaplasty as she had one labia longer than the other. She'd just split up from her husband and got into naturism and group sex so she wanted to look "perfect" down there.

DailyMaui · 21/05/2016 00:51

Now. I work with a woman who is on TV a lot. She has had no work done, is in her fifties and looks absolutely amazing.

In contrast I have recently worked with an eighties icon who has loads done but who looks really weird. I wonder if the person I always work with (and think is fab btw) looks so brilliant BECAUSE she has had nothing done. It's all down to a healthy lifestyle, exercise she enjoys and being happy. And her healthy includes wine and fun.

I've seen too many celebs close up who have had really worrying surgery. I'm going to brave it until the jowels hang too low.

mountaintoclimb · 21/05/2016 01:30

I've not had any cosmetic surgery but have had botox, fillers, a non surgical facelift (threadlift) and teeth whitening. I will be continuing to lift up my sagging jowls.

TemperanceBrennan · 23/05/2016 01:56

I've wanted veneers for years as I hate my yellow uneven bottomed teeth. I would consider getting a boob job, tummy tuck when I finish losing weight and a facelift when I'm older. I'm 29 and reading this thread makes me want to get Botox done!

maggiethemagpie · 23/05/2016 09:52

Not cosmetic surgery as such, but i had my eyebrows tattooed, which I suppose is not far off as it's permanent (well a few years at least)

If I won the lottery I'd definitely have a tummy tuck, I have a horrible flabby midsection that just won't shift.

Scarlettlove you sound similar pre surgery to how I feel now. Glad the tummy tuck worked for you.

ClarkL · 23/05/2016 10:10

I had my boobs done, after breastfeeding both kids my normally pert A boobs were super saggy, I'd gone up to a DD when feeding, my self esteem was so low, my partner never saw me without a t-shirt on. Almost as soon as I had them done I felt better, it wasn't just the look, but it was the first time in a very long time I did something for me, totally selfish all about me and IT FELT GREAT. I was promoted within 3 months, all females bosses so it really was my confidence change that did it.
My partner at the time hated the new confident me and we soon split, he was my first boyfriend after splitting with my childrens abusive father and I quite clearly was settling because I felt I couldn't do any better.

8 years on I am married to a wonderful man, have realised I can do anything I set my mind to and all because I had the op that gave me my confidence back, as well as amazing boobs!

I now have a growth on my face I was always told was a scar, I went to see a private plastic surgeon about having it removed as it has over the years got bigger and bothered me more, he's concerned it isn't a scar and insisted if I don't have him remove and test privately I need to go through the NHS for it to be removed and tested. I am currently waiting for a GP appointment. Once removed I will end up with a wonky nose as well as a 1 inch scar across it. As soon as all tests are done and i'm given the all clear I will be going back to my surgeon and having corrective surgery on my nose to even it out
