Just curious as it seems to be everywhere nowadays but I'm not sure if this is a realistic perception. Is it just celebrities or is it us normal folk too? I think I'd be tempted if I had the money although not sure I'd actually go through with it because of the fear of it going wrong (infection, looking worse than before etc.).

I haven't but if I can afford it in the future, I will have a slight facelift to get rid of the jowly look that is developing.

Shard1066 · 04/10/2014 17:55

Yes to Botox, takes 5 minutes and 10 years off your face. I don't know why anyone wouldn't have it TBH!

GreenPetal94 · 04/10/2014 18:11

no

WorkingBling · 04/10/2014 18:16

Breast reduction here. Best thing I ever did. If I lost a lot of weight I would consider getting excess skin removed f it was a problem.

PiperIsOrange · 04/10/2014 18:17

I would have a tummy tuck it I could afford it.

kelper · 04/10/2014 18:30

I've always said if I ever had a big lottery win the first things I'd get done are liposuction and a tummy tuck.
My belly overhang isn't that bad to justify it at the moment, but if I had millions it would become a priority!!

reflexfaith · 04/10/2014 18:32

late 20's nose job, will probably have facelift in the next 10 years

BecauseIsaidS0 · 04/10/2014 18:39

A friend of mine once called my LASIK eye surgery "cosmetic" Hmm

I'd love to get my droopy eyelids fixed but I'm too chicken.

Gruntfuttock · 04/10/2014 18:40

I have always wanted a breast reduction (well, both of them really Grin ) but have never had the money. I was 60 this year and have started to worry about what's ahead of me as I get older and now I think that even if I had the money, I wouldn't have the surgery now because I would be worried that a general anaesthetic might have a deleterious effect on my brain and I terrified of getting dementia.

CPtart · 04/10/2014 18:49

I've had my teeth whitened twice but that's it.
Don't know if I would ever dare have anything else. It's sad to see your looks fading away. There's nothing wrong with my body that a few hours exercise wouldn't improve.

EdithWeston · 04/10/2014 18:55

I wouldn't have anything done that required a general anaesthetic.

I have had a non-suspicious facial mole removed.

aquashiv · 04/10/2014 18:57

I had my teeth whitened once years ago but I didn't really notice the difference and made them awfully painfully sensitive.

I have had lazer eye surgery also many years ago which was really for all the times I forgot my glasses and then I missed them.
I might have botox if someone could guarantee it wouldn't hurt I have a terrible cross frown at times.
I don't judge anyone that has work done its personal choice so long as they can afford it and they are using a reputable clinic.

Cherryblossomsmile · 04/10/2014 18:59

I haven't but have seriously considered it because age is now definitely taking its toll on my looks and it's very sad. I was at the point of getting recommendations and sorting out the money.

I think I would look better with facelift and fillers but I have decided now that I won't do it because where would it stop? I worry that the maintenance would rack up over the years and maybe, just maybe, I would have looked better if I hadn't had anything done? Plus what about everything else? The knees the elbows the neck? Haven't the money to deal with all that!

I will just have to age and deal with it!

BitterAndOnlySlightlyTwisted · 04/10/2014 19:03

Rhinoplasty here. I looked a right state before the surgery, so it transformed my life. For that reason I would never judge anyone else for the choices they make. I don't look too bad for my age, probs look about ten years younger than my real age, so don't feel the need for botox or anything like that. God gave me very small breasts which sometimes made me unhappy when I was a lot younger but at 60 the nipples are still pointing where they should. I feel very fortunate

Suzannewithaplan · 04/10/2014 19:04

I would be worried that a general anesthetic might have a deleterious effect on my brain and I terrified of getting dementia
that's what worries me about GA, mind you I've heard that some things can be done under twilight anaesthesia which has (afaik) advantages over GA in terms of risk and recovery

superstarheartbreaker · 04/10/2014 19:35

I want a breast reduction and lift plus a tummy tuck. Can anyone tell me hoe much it hurts?
Id also like botox or fillers in my crows feet.

inlectorecumbit · 04/10/2014 19:45

DD2 considering this -a boob job. At present she is 32K and at 5'0 she it totally out of shape. It doesn't help that she wears baggy clothes to hide them. She has indentations on both shoulders and backache but told not eligible for reduction on the NHS. Fair enough.
So i am saving as much as l can to go private. She has researched this and l am just waiting for her to tell me she is ready to go ahead.
In my opinion in needs done -as much as for self esteem and confidence as for health reasons.
But it is major surgery and she needs to be sure.
Any success stories would be appreciated

NoImSpartacus · 04/10/2014 19:47

Two breast enlargements, (first ones were unfortunately PIPS and one ruptured, I had them removed, waited six months and had them replaced).

Despite the PIP disaster I love them and they look great; they weren't v small previously but I like the fullness of larger breasts. People usually think they are real because I went for 'teardrops' and they aren't silly big, but in proportion with my body; I didn't need to buy new clothes following the surgery and can still exercise with no issues which was important for me.

I also have veneers, regular botox and subtle fillers. When I look good I feel good, which is why I chose to make such investments in my physical appearance.

Dogsmom · 04/10/2014 19:48

I haven't but would do if I had miney to spare, nothing huge but I don't like the shape of my nose and now at 39 would consider botox.

Having said that I am happily married and my husband tells me every day how much he fancies me which is a bigger boost than any surgery.

Nonie241419 · 04/10/2014 19:54

I haven't. I'm not bothered by getting wrinkly and my pregnancies haven't left too awful a toll (like a pp's overhang). I may get droopy eyelids in later life and would consider having those fixed, to avoid the implications for my vision.

TerryDolittle · 04/10/2014 20:05

Nothing done here. But if I had the money I would get my teeth fixed. Possibly a tummy tuck and, if there was more research to prove whether it's really effective, a vaginal tightening. 3 DC have left their mark!

JadeJ123 · 04/10/2014 20:25

I've had a boob job which was done privately.
Teeth whitened and Botox as I have a frown line

Memphisbelly · 04/10/2014 20:34

I have had botox but now pregnant and it has worn off so bitchy resting face has re appeared again...roll on Jan when I can have it again.

Apart from that I would love a nose job, a little chin implant and lipo on my muffin top and inner thighs......one day before I am 40

TheCraicDealer · 04/10/2014 20:46

Haven't had anything done, but will 100% be looking at a breast englargement after I've had all my babies. They've never been massive, and having seen my mum's after twins I have seen the future and I don't like it. Having said that, it may be that it won't bother me as much as I think it would and I won't be arsed. But I'm a big believer in "if something bothers you, fix it". Well, within reason.

TeracottaTurtle · 04/10/2014 20:57

If money was no object i'd have a few things. A small nose job to get rid of a slight bump. I'd have veneers on my teeth and get them professionally whitened. I'd probably have a boob job, and maybe a tummy tuck. I also wouldn't be adverse to botox or fillers as I get older but don't need anything yet.

Despite all that ^ i'm actually (believe it or not!) very happy with the way I look atm. I'm not adverse to surgery at all though, so if the money and time (recovery) was no object it would be a 'why not for a minor improvement' mentality.
