We're relieved, definitely not crowing. Thanks to the no voters here who kept me company whilst DH was out at the count. I didn't post a lot because I was making use of the awake toddler free time to get back to the art stuff I've been neglecting whilst debating the referendum, but it was great to be kept up to date.

I think if Salmond's at Dynamic Earth then he'll be addressing the Yes activists there and thanking them for all their hard work.

Rightly so. He can chat to the cameras and do his first minister bit after. We all need to get some sleep, reflect on the result and then start building a better Scotland, within the UK. I hope relieving poverty will be high up the agenda because it is clearly important to many people on both sides of the debate.

Much love and thanks to everyone on both sides who has worked so hard. Special thanks for StatisticallyChallengefor all the financial data and her spreadsheet for the count.

Thanks

No gloating here - there is still good that will come out of the Yes campaign, Westminster can't fail to see how close they came to losing the union and can't fail to see how disenfranchised a vast number of Scots are, and rightly so.

But that feeling doesn't just belong to the Yes voters in Scotland, it also belongs to a vast majority in England, Wales and NI who have no faith in their government.

This campaign has done well to light a fire under their arse and made them realise they need to rapidly change their game or else the next time a referendum comes around, the vote will be a resounding Yes.

Scotland has paved the way for a massive change in the UK and the powers that all the general public get and for that I thank you whole heartedly. I may no longer live there, but from where I'm standing, the future is looking more hopeful and definitely brighter, for everyone.

It was John Snow with the swingometer I think.

It's incredibly emotional. I was hoping to wake up to something very different. Feel so impotent. Oh well. England I still love you! It wasn't you, it was me

Oh bless you Secret Thanks

Getting antsy. Need to leave for work in half an hour!

JeanneDeMontbaston · 19/09/2014 05:53

chelsy, no one is forcing you to use it.

It happens to be what I think, though.

Aaaanyway. I wish Edinburgh would hurry up. I did censor my habitual 'the fuck' out of that, btw.

MorrisZapp · 19/09/2014 05:54

Incredible.

LatteLoverLovesLattes · 19/09/2014 05:56

Chelsy

No intention to stifle. I'm just saying that I don't personally feel comfortable using that sort of language about people directly

Then don't :)

Things are going to get quite heated I imagine. No one is going to like everything everyone says, or agree with it. I think it would just be better if people state their own opinion and don't tell others off for their comments or there wont be any robust debate left.

Anyway, let's not all argue on here :) It's been a mostly nice thread so far Flowers

StatisticallyChallenged · 19/09/2014 05:57

Aberdeenshire has opted for:
THE UNITED KINGDOM.
YES - 71,337
