Evening all!

OP posts:
flippinada · 19/09/2014 02:38

Cross posts with Chelsy. In that case, I'm Edinburgh.

StatisticallyChallenged · 19/09/2014 02:38

I'm working tomorrow too. Supported by my friends Red Bull and SUGAR I reckon!

tabulahrasa · 19/09/2014 02:39

It is looking like a record breaking turnout...that's good Smile

squoosh · 19/09/2014 02:39

Gove alert.

flippinada · 19/09/2014 02:40

I will be running on coffee, coffee and more coffee.

DS will be happy.

livingzuid · 19/09/2014 02:40

tabulahrasa I really sympathise with that reasoning. I come from, even to this day, a Lib Dem stronghold and where I lived in London was always that odious Tessa Jowel. I hated that they just stuck senior politicians in safe seats rather than make them work for it.

The only time it did make a difference was when I was in Brighton and we voted in Caroline Lucas which was really amazing. I even got involved in the local Green Party too before I moved overseas because I felt so empowered by my vote.

I would like to get involved once this is done (if it's a no - yes I don't think I could stay) but I am not sure for what party to be honest. I may let the fallout settle from the result and then canvass MN for opinion as I have found these threads fascinating. I believe change is very necessary and we must modernise our political system.

And who is this numpty on TV now? Next to young chap on BBC 2?

StatisticallyChallenged · 19/09/2014 02:40

Balerno high School is definitely Edinburgh. Even though half of its catchment is West Lothian!

Fontella apparently the Wings twitter feed isn't so polite!

LatteLoverLovesLattes · 19/09/2014 02:40

Oh god stat that's grim. Have a Red Bull, or 6, on me! I'm working too, but not until the afternoon and only for a few hours.

Luckytwo · 19/09/2014 02:41

Hopefully nobody changed their vote based on new powers from Westminster. Sounds increasingly like that will be a bunch of nothing.!!

squoosh · 19/09/2014 02:41

Shetland's a No.

irishe · 19/09/2014 02:41

Balerno is 100% within Edinburgh city council boundaries. It is the feeder school for our primary, we live in Edinburgh.

flippinada · 19/09/2014 02:41

Well, it's pretty clear I'm Edinburgh. In which it's a definite no.

LovleyRitaMeterMaid · 19/09/2014 02:42

Shetland in.

Strokethefurrywall · 19/09/2014 02:42

Watching from the Cayman Islands, Scottish DH is out getting supplies (Magnums... ice creams, not the guns)

Reckon it'll be a No vote but I'm hoping that with all of this it will give Westminster a massive kick up the arse. Nobody is happy with them and if this doesn't get that message across, I don't know what will.

Would be supremely sad to see the union broken up but I totally understand those that want independence.

StatisticallyChallenged · 19/09/2014 02:42

this was doing the rounds - how likely Yes thought they were to win certain areas.

flippinada · 19/09/2014 02:43

*in which case

Fontella · 19/09/2014 02:43

Angry Salmond
I'm not angry with Orkney, I'm just disappointed.

GrouchyKiwi · 19/09/2014 02:43

Did I miss a declaration or are those extra numbers for Shetland?

LatteLoverLovesLattes · 19/09/2014 02:43

Shetland

5669 yes
9951 no
15r

flippinada · 19/09/2014 02:43

Shetland - it's a no

livingzuid · 19/09/2014 02:43

Dundee is hardcore Yes so it isn't surprising tbh. It will be interesting to see how much.

Good result from Shetland.

Fontella · 19/09/2014 02:43

Angry Salmond
Next referendum. Independence from Orkney.

ChelsyHandy · 19/09/2014 02:43

Shetland NO, similar to Orkney.

LatteLoverLovesLattes · 19/09/2014 02:44

64% no
36% yes

GrouchyKiwi · 19/09/2014 02:44

Right. I was a bit slow. I love the accent.
