Evening all!

OP posts:
tabulahrasa · 19/09/2014 01:44

Clackmannanshire is up next to Stirling.

livingzuid · 19/09/2014 01:44

Oh cambio how so? I base this solely on the BBC reports I saw earlier in the week. I do a lot of work in Dundee and Aberdeen and both just seemed so Yes to me. But that might have just been all the branding that was around.

squoosh · 19/09/2014 01:44

Johann Lamont always looks like she wants to punch someone.

StatisticallyChallenged · 19/09/2014 01:44

I thought they were expecting Aberdeen no, Aberdeenshire yes (before tonight I mean)

flippinada · 19/09/2014 01:44

I think we can vote a definitive YES to Scotland saying Pat Kane should keep his fat gob shut.

squoosh · 19/09/2014 01:45

Aberdeen has a lot of oil workers and a lot of high earners, they tend to veer to No.

Cambiodenombre · 19/09/2014 01:45

I'm swayed by the oil money in Aberdeen which I think probably would be no. Purely my opinion and I have no idea what wider Aberdeen would say.

PhaedraIsMyName · 19/09/2014 01:45

No every person gets one vote but to physically count them they are using the same counting stations as they would in a general election. Once they are counted they get put in to the pot for each side. So yes you will eventually get 2 final totals for each.

livingzuid · 19/09/2014 01:45

I am also wondering how much more they can talk about this first result Grin

Mammuzza · 19/09/2014 01:45

It's been worth being up at nearly 3am on this side of the alps, just to see the palpable relief in you lot. Grin

squoosh · 19/09/2014 01:46

Pat Kane should be forced to only use word of two syllables or less. It would kill him.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 19/09/2014 01:46

I'm not going to get any sleep tonight. I may as well just accept it now.

SlowlorisIncognito · 19/09/2014 01:46

Is it possible some predictions are wrong and some poorer voters are voting no because they have more to lose from financial uncertainty if it's a yes?

StatisticallyChallenged · 19/09/2014 01:46

Average turnout from those who have announced it is just under 85%. High, but not as high as Yes had hoped for

livingzuid · 19/09/2014 01:46

Ah thanks all I wondered about that oil thing and it makes sense.

Stirling at 90.1 and East Renfrewshire at 90.5. That's incredible.

LatteLoverLovesLattes · 19/09/2014 01:47

Igne a little 'bit' above Edi. If you can watch BBC1 they're showing each region on a map as they go. Shows you how small Clack is though! But a NO in a strong Yes area is good!

flippinada · 19/09/2014 01:47

The information about the demographics of Clacks is very interesting.

LatteLoverLovesLattes · 19/09/2014 01:47

Stirling 90% turnout!

SlowlorisIncognito · 19/09/2014 01:47

Stirling + East Renfrewshire both with turnouts >90% !

Cambiodenombre · 19/09/2014 01:47

Is there a parallel thread running with all the regular yes voters on?

PhaedraIsMyName · 19/09/2014 01:47

From BBC News feed.

Douglas Fraser - Business and economy editor, Scotland
"So it's a special congratulations to the 7 people in Clackmannanshire who voted both 'yes' and 'no"

Toadinthehole · 19/09/2014 01:48

Tension,

Correct, but besides the point, which No winning in Clackmannan indicates they're doing better than the opinion polls predicted.

Similarly, 54% would represent par for Yes in Glasgow, and would suggest No has won.

ChelsyHandy · 19/09/2014 01:49

Bit surprised at Clackmannanshire. It is in Central Scotland, between Stirling and West Fife. Some poorer areas mixed with some of the best farmland in Scotland and a lot of SMEs. Its got quite an active local authority, in terms of organising local participation and sport and so on.

Bit surprised at low vote in Dundee too.

LatteLoverLovesLattes · 19/09/2014 01:50

I thought they were expecting Aberdeen no, Aberdeenshire yes (before tonight I mean)

That's what I thought too SC

Mummazza :) Wine

Hi hearts :)

Igneococcus · 19/09/2014 01:50

Thanks for the geographical help.
I'm in bed on my phone latte don't have TV on.
