Can I just ask....as a non Scot....does everyone know how everyone is voting? All this talk of intimidation at polling booths and so on, can you not just keep it quiet? It's a secret ballot surely. Sorry if this seems pig ignorant Blush

StatisticallyChallenged · 18/09/2014 21:43

I suspect I'll fall asleep on the sofa with the laptop and wake up intermittently. Probably with the TV on too! I don't think I'll be able to sleep properly

Love Chelsey's words of intelligence.

wearenotinkansas · 18/09/2014 21:44

RubbishRobot - I feel for you. My Yes voting DP seems determined to lock himself away from me while he is still posting propaganda inspiring messages on FB and twitter.

SantanaLopez · 18/09/2014 21:44

Most Yes voters are wearing badges, Hester, and a significant number have posters in their house windows and on their cars.

SantanaLopez · 18/09/2014 21:45

Gordon Brown will be in the dentist's chair wrapped in a whisky-sodden Saltire.

Woah! What sort of parties do you hold? Wink

Thanks for the lovely post. Apart from that Grin

squoosh · 18/09/2014 21:46

But I will be partying in my head if it's a no.

*You guys will be propping up the imaginary bar in my head and Gordon Brown will be in the dentist's chair wrapped in a whisky-sodden Saltire.

I will definitely be attending that imaginary party! Party on Gordo.

StatisticallyChallenged · 18/09/2014 21:46

Hi SweetSherry! Thanks for popping in to say hello - and for convincing an undecided for us Grin

Personally, I won't be partying if it's a No. Just a quiet sigh of relief!

HesterShaw, it's still a secret ballot of course but it's become quite a big issue so many people know what others are voting. Facebook etc haven't helped!

LatteLoverLovesLattes · 18/09/2014 21:48

dotdotdotmustdash thank you for that, I'll pay special attention to that :)

See you later you snoozing wimps!

Grin

spirited that sounds interesting!

rubbish it's not so great for the economy, but, hopefully if he feels he voted 'the wrong way' you might be able to stop arguing about it?!

Flipinada me too and I'm in England. I could no more sleep than climb Ben Nevis.

Electriclaundryland · 18/09/2014 21:48

I'll be so glad when this is over. I've just had a fb ding dong with a Scottish friend who's been living in London for years. He was posting smugly about having voted. He registered at his mum's address I Glasgow. I called him a knob and all sorts.

It has totally pissed me off that my children's lives could be affected by people who don't and have no intention to live up here.

Rant over but I'm raging.

Wynona · 18/09/2014 21:49

I really do feel for you all. Is there really a sense that it is on a knife edge? I still difficult to believe that tomorrow our beautiful country could be split up.

tabulahrasa · 18/09/2014 21:49

There's lots of people that I don't know how they're voting...mostly it's just the very vocal ones, from both sides.

I know lots of people who have been very vocal in person and on Facebook for both yes and no, I seem to know more yes voters, but the noes say more. But, that seems to be the opposite of what other people say they've experienced.

Oh and the drunk man standing in the road shouting about them stealing money and how there'd be no more orange walks and is that really what people want...I'm assuming he's a no, lol.

But I know lots of people who haven't said either way.

StatisticallyChallenged · 18/09/2014 21:49

I suspect I'll not sleep. Far too nervous!.

LovleyRitaMeterMaid · 18/09/2014 21:49

Would you describe them in less or more pleasant terms that you've described hard working Scotswomen like me

You were told before. Quote me, tell me what terms I used that have irked you so much.

You went on about this at length a few threads ago but produced nothing.

Artyjools · 18/09/2014 21:50

Ok Spiritedwolf, I can't stand it any more. You have mentioned pastels. Please pm me and show me some of your art!!

As you were everyone else.

tabulahrasa · 18/09/2014 21:50

Oh and that post about knowing what people have vote was for Hester...only I'm rubbish and forgot to put that, lol

flippinada · 18/09/2014 21:51

Latte Grin

I need to sleep...and probably should...but I know I won't be able to.

flippinada · 18/09/2014 21:52

8 minutes until polls close... Oh my nerves. Haven't felt like this since 1997. Anyone remember that night?

TensionWheelsCoolHeels · 18/09/2014 21:53

7 mins to go. Shock

SantanaLopez · 18/09/2014 21:53

I'm going to try and doze a bit.. doubt it will work Grin

LatteLoverLovesLattes · 18/09/2014 21:54

I need to take up smoking - I can't eat anymore FFS!

ChelsyHandy · 18/09/2014 21:55

Rita You were told before. Quote me, tell me what terms I used that have irked you so much

Oh I was "told", was I? I'm afraid it can't have been very effective. I can't remember. No idea what you said.

I'm sure if it was something interesting, relevant, inspiring, motivational, riveting or even lucid, I would have remembered. Perhaps another poster can remember instead?

Spiritedwolf · 18/09/2014 21:55

I think I'll work on the painting whilst waiting for the results and mumsnetting I've been procrastinating for the last week or so.

StatisticallyChallenged · 18/09/2014 21:55

Until today I've not been eating that much - but boy did I make up for it today Blush

OP posts:
flippinada · 18/09/2014 21:55

I'm the opposite, I can't eat a thing, my stomach is jumping about like nobodies business.
