The article re the SNP trying to stop business come out? Yes, I think so.

WildThong · 15/09/2014 23:17

Ofgs, I suppose it's too much to hope that someone put him right on that?

TroelsNextCampaignManager · 15/09/2014 23:18

Guardian/ICM poll - 63% of English & Welsh say Scotland should not have the pound post-independence.

No English/Welsh politician is going to fight against that level of consensus.

Fontella · 15/09/2014 23:20

Would that be like him crowing about DC urging companies to speak out when this is about to come out

Holy Sh*t Shock

The wheels are starting to come off the wagon.
I think the next couple of days are going to be full of mud slinging, accusation and counter accusation. Salmond's tactic when cornered is to counter attack - I think it's going to get really nasty.

WildThong · 15/09/2014 23:21

Can he and his campaign get any nastier? Surely not.

StatisticallyChallenged · 15/09/2014 23:22

I don't think anyone corrected him, no. The Group Think is crazy. You do not speak for everyone in Scotland!

Luckytwo · 15/09/2014 23:22

Fontella. -I'm just in some way trying to explain why we are where we are. And yes you're quite correct, Cameron hopefully won't make it past Friday as it his fault we are here with his no devomax option on the ballet paper. Salmond hopefully will also be off . But one thing is for sure - it will be somebody and somebody else Scotland didn't want. Also the welfare bill is making the whole country skint anyway. Finally, please don't worry as I live in surrey and absolutely nobody I know speaks of this, I am completely aware of how little interest the rest of the uk have. Yes there are a few ready to speak in microphones , usually they have scottish descent or are married to one, but nobody else is all that bothered. There are some very serious issues going on outwith our islands, like the rise of IS - I was struck tonight by the news, nobody is going t lose their life over the independence vote, thank goodness.

StatisticallyChallenged · 15/09/2014 23:23

Oh but it's ok. Brian Cox says it's a new paradigm. But he says he's "going to try and get a house in Scotland" if we go independent. Hmm

OneNight · 15/09/2014 23:24

I'm sorry to report that at a political meeting this evening a heckler threatened a No politician with direct and serious personal injury. (I know the precise words but I think they'd breach even Mumsnet's posting rules.)

There are people out there who have become really unbalanced by this and sometimes I fear for my country. Thank God for secret ballots about which we may just have been a little complacent until now.

Fontella · 15/09/2014 23:27

That used to piss me off big time about Tony Benn.

He always used to preface everything he said with 'The British People think ....' or 'The British People want....' as if he could read the minds of us all. Even his dafter ideas (and he had a few Gawd bless him) were always 'The British People think'.

PhaedraIsMyName · 15/09/2014 23:28

Yes Brian Cox, the leftie Sir Sean.

Good for Michelle Mone for asking if he paid tax here, because she does.

WildThong · 15/09/2014 23:28

Oh but it's ok. Brian Cox says it's a new paradigm. But he says he's "going to try and get a house in Scotland" if we go independent.

Oh that's kind of him. Hope he is a cash buyer cos he won't get a mortgage!

StatisticallyChallenged · 15/09/2014 23:29

Spanish minister for Europe outlining realities of getting in to the EU...

Non committal on whether Spain would block. Says process takes about 5 years.

Doesn't see any member states being granted a Euro opt out in the future.

Fontella · 15/09/2014 23:30

Were you there Onenight. Can you tell us more?

WildThong · 15/09/2014 23:30

New on Twitter
The Daily Mail should be interesting tomorrow..
They have a leaked document from SNP regarding the NHS

Wonder what this is about

StatisticallyChallenged · 15/09/2014 23:31

Yes dude (Stewart Hosie) claiming we'd inherit the treaty obligations...does anyone actually believe that anymore? It's like "lalalalalalala it's all going to be just as we say"

He's just been "absolutely categoric" that we'll be using the pound. So, that's us back to those huge cuts then...

OneNight · 15/09/2014 23:32

I wasn't there Fontella but I had it reported fully to me by an impeccable source. So impeccable that you can take it as coming from me.

Fontella · 15/09/2014 23:33

How can he spout that shit about 'using the pound'

Is he being challenged?

WildThong · 15/09/2014 23:34

That's awful, one
I hope there is action taken to try and nip it in the bud

StatisticallyChallenged · 15/09/2014 23:34

Go Kirsty!

PhaedraIsMyName · 15/09/2014 23:35

Bit off topic but what will an independent Scotland do for national security and intelligence? Is GCHQ going to be shared too?

StatisticallyChallenged · 15/09/2014 23:35

Kirsty just challenged him on the uncertainty/currency and he interrupted again and said "we'll be using the pound"

So Stewart Hosie, how will you build up the reserves you will need to keep our country stable without a central bank?

Fontella · 15/09/2014 23:36

A bit of light relief folks.

Apologies if it's already been posted - these threads move so fast!

WildThong · 15/09/2014 23:36

Stuart Hosie was on last nights debate and had his ass handed to him on a plate by Douglas Alexander.

I got the impression SH was really sneery and didn't listen to any arguments at all.

Roonerspism · 15/09/2014 23:36

I have heard of three serious incidents today of threats and assaults to no voters.

Are these people being fuelled and fed by hatred?

My sister's friend was told he would be bottled on the train for wearing his no badge. Plastic bottles thrown at fellow no campaigners out door knocking. Braying crowds. This is how civil unrest starts.

Dear god Salmond - look what you have unleashed. This is the ugly side of nationalism getting uglier.
